The alarm rang throughout the whole base, waking all of the officers up. They all got up as quickly as possible and puts their suits on.

Our first mission..!

After that, they were all in a vehicle, strategizing and chatting. While everything seemed to be going fine, Kafka looked like he was about to throw up.

"Old man, you okay??" [Name] rose a brow, sweatdropping and catching everyone's attention.

To which the old man replied, "Sorry I was just so nervous and.. Overate." he smiled nervously.

"Normally you wouldn't be able to eat anything!!" the Vice Captain shouted, and Kikoru chimed in.

"Kafka, I swear if you barf-!!"

And after that little event, they finally arrived to their destination. They were standing on the rooftop as the Vice Captain explained their current situation.

"Yer job is to neutralize the after-beasts and make sure to not let 'em out of the zone."

then he continued, "It's an important job where the success or failure can largely affect the size of the damage, as well as the costs and reconstruction."

"You lot are the last line of defense." [Name] clutched her gun as she heard those words, her eyebrows furrowed with determination.

"Any questions?" but there was just silence, meaning none. So he continued, "Alright. Just remember. No matter how well you perform at training grounds, that won't save any livin' life."

"Show your strength in the battlefield."

[Name] couldn't help but admire his features as he told the officers some encouraging words, still having that same sly grin on his face. Her eyes fluttered, slightly daydreaming.

But then she shook her head, snapping herself back to reality.

"Well then, best regards." Vice Captain bidded them a goodbye as they all started to run and shoot the Kaiju's.

[Name] quickly followed, "I'll do my best, Vice Captain Hoshina!" she sent him a bright smile through her mask, but then he chuckled.

"Attagirl, don't disappoint me."

[Name] turned bright red and almost lost track of where she was going, about to run into a wall since she kept her eyes on him.

But she then shook her head and focused, pointing her gun at the Kaiju and continued to shoot it.

A-AM I ON CLOUD NINE RIGHT NOW?! AM I HIGH?!?

The thing is, she didn't expect him to actually respond to her cheeky statement. She was expecting him to just chuckle and continue on.
