Ritika stirred reluctantly in her bed, feeling the unusual weight of exhaustion in her limbs. The room was still dim with the early morning light struggling to penetrate the curtains. She reached for her phone, fumbling to check the time.

"8:15?!" Ritika gasped, her heart skipping a beat as panic shot through her. She was already supposed to be at school by now. H

Frantically throwing off her blanket, Ritika scrambled out of bed, her mind racing. She hastily pulled on her uniform, wincing as she realized she hadn't even brushed her teeth yet. Grabbing her bag, she dashed towards the bathroom, all thoughts of a leisurely morning routine forgotten.

In the bathroom mirror, her reflection looked back at her, slightly disheveled with sleep still clouding her eyes. She splashed water on her face, scrubbed her teeth furiously, and combed her hair as quickly as she could manage.

Ritika's heart sank as she scrolled through her phone notifications. Among the flood of missed calls and messages, Vrushika's name stood out prominently. Her best friend was notorious for punctuality, and seeing fifteen missed calls from her was unprecedented.

"Oh no," Ritika muttered under her breath, feeling a wave of guilt wash over her. She quickly dialed Vrushika's number, tapping her foot nervously as the phone rang.

"Finally! Abey mar war gayi thi kya? Kitna late kardiya. Mai school Jaa rahi hu. Phone neeche school me jama Kara dungi." Vrushika's voice burst through the line, a mix of worry and frustration evident in her tone.

("Did you decide to go into battle or something? How late did you make it today? I'm bringing my phone to school; I'll deposit it with the office."

"I'm so sorry, Vrushika," Ritika apologized hurriedly. "I overslept. I'm on my way to school now. I'll be there soon."

"You're lucky today's not a test day," Vrushika replied pointedly, her voice softening slightly. "Aur jaldi jaldi per chalana. Kahi Mari huyi haalat me chale".

(And hurry up!! Because you walk like you are in a daze)

"I know, I know," Ritika sighed, squeezing her eyes shut briefly. "I'll be there as fast as I can."

With promises to explain everything later, Ritika ended the call and quickened her pace. She could feel the weight of her tardiness like a heavy cloud hanging over her head.

As she rushed towards school. Despite her usual tendencies to be fashionably late, today's extreme lateness had thrown her off balance.

While Devagya sat at her desk, tapping his pencil against his notebook with a furrowed brow. Ritika's absence weighed heavily on his mind. It wasn't like Ritika to miss school without a word. He glanced at the empty seat next to hers, where Ritika usually sat, and then at the clock on the wall, which seemed to tick away relentlessly.

Devagya's eyes widened in surprise as Ritika and Vrushika burst into the classroom together, breathless and flushed from their hurried sprint. The relief that washed over her was palpable.

"Good morning billu ji" Ritika teased as soon as she sat on desk beside Devagya. While Devagya rolled his eyes at her. He was shocked because ritika left her bus,she came here running and to his surprise she is joking with him like nothing happened.
