The sun rose, and the birds flew off their trees. The howling of the wind drew Slugberry from his sleep.
“Wh-Where am I..!?” Slugberry looked about, panicking.
His breathing sped up, and his eyes darted everywhere.
“Slugberry, calm down.” The mysterious starclan cat spoke, Brindlestar next to her.
“Brindlestar! Am I in Starclan or something!?” Slugberry demanded.
“Yes, but you're just dreaming currently.” Brindlestar spoke, her tail rested on the other cat's back.
“This is my mate, Darkscar, your mother's dad.” Brindlestar gently mewed.
“Wait.. doesn't that mean?-” Slugberry was cut off.
“Yes, we are related to you.” Brindlestar and Darkscar spoke at the same time.
“So, why am I here?” Slugberry asked them both.
“Because I'm telling you how to cross that gorge.” Darkscar meowed with kindness, “There is a narrow two-leg platform that stretches over the gorge, we used to call it The Connection.. but that doesn't really matter. All you need to do is head right along the gorge, and you should hit it.” Darkscar meowed with laughter.
“Oh, alright, thanks, Darkscar and Brindlestar!” Slugberry ran off for some reason.
“Let's have a meeting with Sootberry and Spiderstar because I can sense that Silverclan may be driven out.” Brindlestar switched to a more serious, stern expression.
“Right, I'll go get Mintleaf.” Darkscar padded off to find Mintleaf.Slugberry drew from his dream and looked around, Salmonear and Nettlesong were lying together next to the rock they all were sleeping under. The sun was already pretty high, Slugberry tripped over Featherpaw and woke them all up.
“It's already nearly sun-high!” Slugberry mewed loudly.
“Alright..” Salmonear got up and stretched.
“Follow me, I know where we need to go!” Slugberry was bursting with excitement. The five others eventually tiredly followed Slugberry along the gorge.
“So, Slugberry.. how do you know where we suddenly need to go all the time?” Salmonear spoke with a hint of annoyance.
“Uhm, alright. Fine, I've been having dreams with Brindlestar and Darkscar, and they've been telling me the directions.” Slugberry finally admitted.
“I'm going to claw your dirty eyes out!” Salmonear screeched angrilySalmonear leaped up and went for Slugberrys eyes. He dodged to the side but got cuffed in the ear by Salmonear.
“YOU PROBABLY KNEW LIGHTNINGFALL WAS GOING TO ATTACK US!? YOU ARE A DIRTY HALF-CLAN PIECE OF HORSE-DUNG WITH A FOX-HEART” Salmonear spat with pure hatred and malice.
Slugberry just stood there, his legs shaking and his mouth hung open in hurt and shock.
“W-What?” Slugberry could barely get it out.
“YOU HEARD ME!” Salmonear spat with malice.Nettlesong walked in front of them both.
“Salmonear, stop.” Nettle demanded, “Slugberry didn't know. If he did, he would've told us.” She gently spoke now.
There was a huge stench of dogs, and there was a lot of barking.
“Uhm, are those dogs!?” Whitepaw shrieked.
