Lex stepped out of the car and leaned into the front window, “I’ll  walk to the studio with Angel.” She smiled as the driver nodded and drove away. She paused at the front doors of the hotel before opening them  and walking into the lobby.

Charlie smiled as she noticed Lex walk in. She looked troubled but still as beautiful as ever. She quickly made her way over to the reception desk where Lex stood, a worried expression on her face.”Hey there, you okay?” She asked, leaning against the desk in front of her. “Are you here to see Angel?”

“Actually..... Is Lucifer here?” Lex sat down in the nearby chair, “I was kinda needing to talk to him about some things.”

Charlie’s eyes lit up, “He is here!” She said enthusiastically. “But he’s currently occupied with some business at the moment.” She hesitated for a moment before continuing, “If you don’t mind me asking, what is it that you need to talk to him about?”

“It’s kinda personal...” Lex looked down at her hands, “It’s about my past......”

“Of course, I understand.” Charlie said sweetly. “Well, why don’t you make yourself comfortable and I’ll go see if I can find Dad for you?” She offered. “Maybe he won’t mind taking a short break from whatever he’s doing.”

“I’ll be right back.” Charlie said before leaving the room. After a moment, she returned with Lucifer in tow. He had a look of slight annoyance on his face, but it quickly dissipated when he saw Lex.

“Is everything alright?” He watched Lex with cautious eyes, “Charlie said you wanted to talk to me about your past.”

“Someone gave Val and Vox Frankie’s file right before the extermination......” Lex looked up from her hands, “I’ve read thru it and I have a lot of questions that I was hoping you might be able to answer because the file says he spoke to you about my powers.

Lucifer’s eyes met Lex’s, his expression softening. He stepped forward, offering her a comforting hand. “Come, my dear. Let’s go to the other room and discuss this further.”

He put his arm around her as they walked, “I see you took Frankie’s spot as an Overlord...” He smiled, “I was also told that you have aligned yourself with the Vees...” He chuckled softly, "You are actually quite the force to be reckoned reckon with, Lex." Lucifer's eyes sparkled as he looked at Lex with admiration, "I must admit, when Frankie found you I was concerned with the amount of power you had, but seeing what you were truly capable of, I could see why you had captured the hearts of so many."

Lex looked into his eyes as they stopped walking.” I need to know about my powers, I have no idea what I am actually capable of.”

He smiled reassuringly, “You possess several of the most dominant powers I have ever seen, and your ability to influence and sway people to your will is remarkable...... I could teach you how to have better control over those powers.”

“Vox had mentioned helping me with my powers....” Lex sighed, “I just need to know what was so terrible about them that Frankie felt the need to bind me to him.”

He looked at her seriously, “The binding was done to keep you in check. Once you started to gain souls for Frankie the older Overlords at the time realized that not all of the souls went to Frankie and they believed that your powers were too dangerous to be left unchecked...... they were afraid of being ... overthrown....”

Lex looked at him, tears threatened to spill from her eyes. “How did I keep souls, As far as I knew I was merely gaining and maintaining for Frankie......What kind of monster am I?”

He took her hand gently, looking up into her eyes, “You are not a monster, Lex.....” He chuckled softly, giving her hand a squeeze. “You just need to learn your powers...... when Frankie bound you to him, you could still use your powers but they were diluted so the souls went to him...... When he died and you took over the souls went to you and you gained your full powers. So now you just need to learn how to control and use them." He smiled gently at her, "You have a lot of potential....Frankie was not exactly kind...." He said finally after a moment of hesitation. "He believed that the stronger sinners such as yourself were meant to be used by Overlords as bargaining chips, he also feared losing his power and being overthrown," he looked over at her, "That is why he bound you.... he didn't want you to be able to use your full powers."
