THE AMBRIC FLOWER

The Ambric flower is a glowing little flower, the last of its kind in all of the Andromeda Galaxy, and the most powerful plant to exist in the universe. It is the symbol of power in the planet of Xanatu, where it is kept floating in the sacred pond of Xula in the royal gardens. It is so recorded in Xanatian history, that when the first Xans arrived in Xanatu, there was nothing to be found in sight other than boulders, both huge and little, of raw platinum and several ponds teeming with the glowing ambric flower. On settling down, the first Xans did not understand the power of the plant, and discarded it as much as they could, channeling their innovation to the use of the abundant platinum. A few decades later, the newly inhabited planet began to deteriorate. Agriculture failed, the ponds dried up, there was such hunger and starvation that the Xans were resorting to selling themselves into slavery to the nearby planet, Xern. Their sufferings continued until a young Xan maiden, in a desperate resolve to save her dying love drew power from the ambric flower, and eventually saved, not only her starved lover, but her whole village from pillage. The whole planet was drawn to her, and she saved them all, causing the planet not only to flourish again, but to gain name as one of the most powerful planets in all of the galaxies, their exploits going beyond the Andromeda. In gratitude, she was made their goddess, and her offspring became the rulers of Xanatu. But by this time, the ambric flower had almost gone extinct, with one last five petaled glow serving as the last hope and life source of Xanatu. After the death of the young maiden, the Xans found that the power of the ambric flower can only be harnessed by one Xan in every generation, and that its powers were coveted by other planets. In order to protect their home, the offspring of the young maiden, Xula, were made to serve as guardians of the ambric flower, making the Xanatian royal family the sole guardians of the flower.  However, in four generations, there has been no known wielder of the actual power.

THE PROPHECY

Legend has it, that there will come a child who may not only harness the power of the ambric flower, but so encompass it that they shall become one with it. There are whispers of a certain prophecy about a child who shall not only be able to become one with the power of the ambric flower, but whose destiny is to rule over the Andromeda, and become the most powerful being to have been born.
