The next morning, most of the pressure in his stomach had disappeared and Bobo was longing for a tasty breakfast again. While getting dressed, he thought back to those rare moments in Africa when there was enough food. A big eater, he had apparently always been that, evident from those moments. People would gather around him and cheer him on. When he was 10 years old, he ate so much at a cousin's wedding that everyone thought he needed to go to a hospital. But hospitals were far away, so his father had carried him home, fearing for his life. Bobo had been very ill for several days and despite his family fearing for his life, he had recovered well. But how angry his father had been. Not at Bobo, but at the family members who had encouraged him to eat more. They had promised him not to do it again, but it happened more often in secret. Especially the cousins who were under the age of 20 loved seeing how much he could eat and despite the near death experience and the painful feeling of too much food in his body, Bobo continued to eat whenever he had the chance. Especially when he was encouraged. Erik had once suggested that he should participate in eating competitions, but that idea was immediately dismissed by Steven, who did not see the point of such competitions and steered the conversation to famine in third world countries. Bobo thought it was hypocritical that he came up with this. In the end he also sat with them at a restaurant at least once a week, helping himself to meals that others would not have thought possible. Bobo knew all about it. In Europe everything was more extensive and bigger than in Africa. He had not accepted Erik's idea. Despite being African himself, Bobo did not take famine into account. He had suffered from hunger himself and was grateful that this was now over. However, he had difficulty being encouraged by strangers. In his experience, eating was not something to be seen as a competition. You have to enjoy it. Besides, there were no eating contests in the area. He had quickly looked that up.

His memories of earlier times were rudely interrupted when he walked to the kitchen to make breakfast. Maverick sat on the white couch and immediately made it clear that Bobo would have to eat breakfast somewhere other than the dinner table or the living room. He was expecting a visit from Steven and private matters needed to be discussed. Bobo looked up, somewhat startled. Since when was he not welcome when Steven or Erik came to visit. They didn't come that often as they mostly met in a restaurant, but until now Bobo was always allowed to be there. They were his friends too, right? But it was still early and he didn't feel like arguing, so he made a breakfast consisting of a large bowl of yogurt with slices of fresh bananas, eight slices of bread with butter and a thick layer of peanut butter and a slice of 'normal' cheese and a large glass of orange juice. He hardly ever drank coffee or tea. The doorbell rang as Bobo prepared to walk back to his bedroom with a large and full tray. While eating, he thought back to the good times in Africa and wondered if he would ever see the family members and friends he had left behind again. When he had finished eating, he pulled a thick bar of milk chocolate from a drawer of his desk that was full of chocolate bars, and ate it with gusto.

Maverick was talking to Steven in the living room. He had his best friend come over to discuss an idea with him that had been on his mind for the past few weeks. After living with him for six months, the excitement was gone. He was referring to Bobo. And that's why he thought it would be a good idea to revive the excitement with a force feeding session. Bobo loved to eat, right? Steven remained silent for a moment, then burst out laughing. A what? Force feeding is what they do with geese. Maverick also admitted that he posted the videos of Bobo during dinner on a closed YouTube channel. He showed Steven the reactions of people who were shocked by his appetite. Yesterday's video, in which you can see how Bobo ate two hamburgers and the knowledge that he had also finished a third, is especially popular.

"People are not right in their heads," Steven said.
"How can this be popular?"

"No, that stupid nigger," Maverick replied.
'He just keeps eating, man. Might as well make it commercial, right?"

Steven confirmed this line of thought. If you could make money somehow, then you should do it. It was clear to him the excitement that Bobo once brought was now gone and if his schedule allowed it, he would be present at the force feeding session. He would also invite Erik so that Maverick could concentrate on organizing it. After briefly talking about some of Steven's business associates, he said he might know of a way to increase the excitement in Maverick's life again. Giovanni has found a new boy. A sturdy Surinamese who turned out to be quite smart.
