Where are you? I am downstairs!
I texted Kai as I stood under the illumined TBC- Sky Lounge sign.

Just come upstairs, the booking is in my name.
Kai replied. I walked up the stairs and pushed the elevator button to the fourth floor. TBC in recent times have sort of become mine and Kai's place. We have been here so many times that now, at this point the entire staff knew us. As the door of the elevator opened, I made my way towards the hostess stand.

"Hi ma'am a very good evening" the hostess smiled.
"Hi a very good evening! I have a booking here from the name Kai?" I replied. The hostess nodded and started flipping through her list.

"Yes, ma'am I see it right here. And I believe your party is here?" she said, I nodded. She opened the door and gestured for me to follow her. I started walking behind her. She led me towards the stairs and then too the balcony.  As we reached towards a quite corner of the place, I saw Kai standing there with a huge smile and a bouquet of lilies in his hand. I smiled and nodded at the hostess as I walked towards Kai.

"Hey hun!" I exclaimed as I wrapped him into a hug.

"A very happy birthday in advance my love" Kai said as he planned a loving kiss on my lips. I smiled as he offered me the bouquet of lilies. I took it in my hand and blushed while I buried my face in it.

"My lady" he said as he pulled out a chair for me.

"Thank you" I replied as I settled into my chair.

Kai took the seat in front of mine. His smile today was something else. After a very long time I was seeing him blush and smile like this after ages, felt like I was transported back to the time when we first started dating. As the night progressed, I lost myself in Kai's eyes and time fled like it never did before. We, after a very long time spoke like two naked souls. We told each other about our day, how was our jobs going and finally about how both of us felt that we were slipping away from each other. Looking at him, in the moment I realized how much we both were really struggling. Be it with our professional lives or private one. Somewhere in the mist of being the best versions of ourselves, we ended up loosing ourselves. As the clock struck twelve the entire place felt into silence, I looked at Kai and he was smiling from ear to ear.

"Kai? What's going on?" he said nothing and suddenly Happy Birthday blared on the speakers as the staff approached me with birthday hats and a cheesecake.

"A very happy birthday my love!" Kai exclaimed as he jumped out of his chair.

"Oh my god!" I cried out, my voice chocking in my throat and tears pooling in my eyes. Kai wrapped his arms around me as I kept sobbing into his chest.

"Come on my love, make a wish" Kai said as he ran his thumb under my eyes, wiping off my tears. I took a deep breath and made my wish, the entire crowed around us erupted into claps and cheers, I buried my face once again in Kai's chest.
"Thank you! Thank you so much" I crocked as my voice could barely escape my throat.

"Anytime my love, you know right I will do anything for you?" Kai said as he took a chair next to me. I smiled and cut a piece of the cake and offered it to Kai. He smiled and took a bite. What just happened to me was something I always dreamed off as a little girl and now I was living it. People called it movie love and right now, somehow it was my reality.

As we got ready to leave, I couldn't get my eyes off Kai because after a very long time I was able to feel the lost spark. I was beyond happy because who would this for me? For anyone? Maybe they will if they loved someone beyond limits. Does Kai really love me beyond limits? Or I was the limit? As my mind slowly kept drowning, I felt Kai's comforting hand on my shoulder.

"Are you okay my love?" he asked, wrapping me into an embrace.

"I'm okay! Let's go home?" I lied.

"Sure! I'll be right be right back" he said kissing my forehead. In a mist of a second, he disappeared into the crowd and reappeared.
