In a picturesque countryside village, hidden between the hills and field, are two childhood friends: Alex and Jaxx. Despite their differences in social class, they shared a deep bond and didn't care what people thought about them.

Alex was a bright girl of eight, she's from a well-to-do family. Her chestnut brown hair flowed in gentle waves, her two side ponytails framing her cherubic face. Her eyes a golden yellow. She lived in a spacious home, filled with elegant furnishings. She enjoyed a life of comfort and privilege but she didn't mind getting dirty.

On the other hand, Jaxx was quite the spirited nine-year-old, he was the son of a farmer. His spiky red hair matched his fiery determination to help his family. Though his family's humble homestead lacked the extravagance of Alex's house, it still radiated warmth and hospitality. Jaxx would spend his days tending to the family's potato crops.

Alex and Jaxx were inseparable. They spent their days exploring the countryside and going through the forest, creating mini adventures.

One sunny afternoon, as they sat beneath the shade of an ancient oak tree. Alex was reading a princess book her mother got her. Alex admitted to Jaxx.

Alex: "You know, Jaxx," she said with a wistful smile, "I've always dreamed of having blonde hair like the princesses in the storybooks."

Jaxx looked at her and thought for a bit. Then, he came up with a plan. Jaxx quickly looked around to make sure Alex's parents weren't around before quickly turning to Alex again.

Jaxx:  "Well..." he started "Why wait?"

Alex: "What do you mean "Why wait"?" she looked at him with a bit of confusion in her eyes. she squinted her eyes at him.

Jaxx: "I mean, why wait to become a princess when I can help you become one right now?" he said, grinning.

Alex was still a little confused until it clicked. She quickly agreed, her and Jaxx ran out of sight from their parents to avoid getting caught. Once in the barn, Jaxx brought out some scissors he snuck out and some homemade potato dye. As quickly as Alex had agreed, now she became a bit skeptical.

Alex: "Are you sure this is going to work? You don't have to do this if you don't want to." trying to signal Jaxx that she's having second thoughts.

Jaxx: "It's fine, it'll work" he started " I think " mumbling.

Alex: "What did you say?"

Jaxx: "Nothing!"

Jaxx quickly got to work in transforming Alex's hair. They laughed and whispered together. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Jaxx gave Alex her small mirror once he was finished.

Jaxx: "I hope this is how you wanted it." he said as he looked down "I hope I didn't ruin it" he whispered.

As Alex looked into her mirror, Alex was shocked. Alex admired her reflection in the small mirror. Her newly dyed blonde hair glowed under the fading light.

Alex: "It's perfect." she smiled and looked at Jaxx. "Thank you"
