THE WORLD was moving slowly. So slowly that it felt as though Bailey was the only one moving quickly. The belt that strapped her onto the chair was no longer suffocating, it felt like she was as light as a feather.
The voice in her head had stopped, leaving her in utter silence, which she had never experienced before. Every worry she ever encountered had gone- Bailey had forgotten it all. She couldn't think of any reason to be worried, it seemed perfectly safe in this underground bunker. Bailey considered if they'd teach her Russian and combat train her, take her in as their own. She considered the offer.
"I don't think I feel anything." Steve slurred, "I honestly feel great."
Robin chuckled, "You wanna know a secret? I like it."
"Maybe they messed it up." Bailey slurred a laugh, "Stupid bitches. Bitches!" She laughed at the word like it was her first time swearing, "Bitches! Morons."
"Morons!" Robin chuckled, "There's definitely something wrong with us."
Abruptly the familiar sound of the door buzzed open, before the Russian man and the Doctor walked back inside. The Doctor placed his tools on the side, as the uniformed guard continued to ask them questions.
"Let's try this again." He spoke, that same smirk plastered on his face, "Who do you work for?"
"Scoops." Steve replied, causing the two girls to burst out laughing, "Scoops Ahoy."
The man's smirk faded, "How did you find us?"
"Totally by accident." Steve chuckled, causing the man to sigh and motioning for the Doctor. The Doctor walked towards them, holding sharp metal tweezers in his hands. Without warning, he approached Steve and clamped the tools onto his finger nail, pulling at it which caused him to shout in panic. "Whoa! Stop, stop. Stop!"
"There was a code!" Robin shouted, which stopped the Doctor, "We heard a code!"
"A code?" The Russian man questioned curiously.
"The week is long. The silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west. Blah, blah, blah." Robin explained slowly, "You broadcasted that stupid spy shit all over town, and we picked it up on our Cerebro, and we cracked it in a day!"
Bailey chuckled, "You're code was cracked by ice cream scoopers."
"Yeah, and now everyone knows!" Robin added.
The Russian man shouted, "Who knows, сука!"
"Well, Dustin knows." Steve replied, "Yeah, Dustin Henderson—"
"Steve!" Bailey dragged out the word into an almost whine.
"Dustin Henderson." The Russian man asked curiously, "Is this your curly-haired friend?"
"Yeah, great hair." Steve nodded, "Small. Kind of like a 'fro. Yeah."
"Where is he?" The man questioned impatiently.
"He's long gone, you big asshole." Bailey slurred with a chuckle, "He's probably calling my dad. When my dad finds out he's gonna call in the Big Guns. You know, commando-style?"
"He's gonna kick your sorry-asses back to Russia." Steve laughed, "Like, two pieces of toast."
The man smirked, "Is that so?"
"Yeah." Bailey replied in the same tone.
Suddenly, alarms echoed from every room, causing the Russian man to storm out of the room in a hurry. The Doctor waited with them, the sound ringing through Bailey's ears; the sound buzzed repeatedly.
Unexpectedly, the door slammed open, as the familiar face of Dustin ran inside. He held an electric pole, which tasered the Doctor as Dustin held it onto his chest. Bailey clapped her hands at the entertainment, as Dustin crouched down to untie her first.
"Dustin." Bailey greeted with a smile.
"That's crazy, I was just talking about you." Steve added.
Dustin ignored them, before insisting, "Get ready to run."
"Why are we running?" Bailey asked curiously, as she stood up dizzily. Erica grabbed onto her hand, guiding her outside and into a red vehicle. She frowned, watching as Steve and Robin were pushed inside, "Are we getting kidnapped by kids?" She laughed.
"It's so cramped in here." Steve tried to stretch out his legs but kicked Bailey instead.
"Ow!" She complained, nudging him back, but he fell into Robin, who pushed him back- the cycle repeated.
Erica frowned, "What is wrong with them?"
"I don't know." Dustin replied, as he sped the vehicle through the corridors. He parked the vehicle, before jumping out and opening the back doors. Bailey squinted at the light, as Dustin grabbed her arm and pulled her out first.
Dustin entered his stolen keycard, before the group entered the elevator again. Bailey admired the small space, "Have we been in here before?"
"Yes. A few hours ago. Do you not remember?" Dustin let out a breath of frustration, "Bailey, what did they give you?"
"Huh?" Bailey frowned, as she watched Steve and Robin play with the trolley that was left inside the elevator.
Dustin repeated frustratedly, "What did the Russian's give you?"
"Uh, they gave me a bruise here." Bailey pointed to her head cluelessly.
Robin called excitedly, "Bailey, come here!"
"No, no." Dustin replied, "What did they give you. Like, drugs?"
"I don't do drugs anymore, Henderson." Bailey slurred, "I didn't know drugs were your thing. I can recommend a dealer, if—"
"Look!" Robin exclaimed, as she held Bailey's arm and pulled her away from Dustin and Erica. Bailey stepped onto the trolley with Robin, as Steve held it.
"Whoa!" Robin exclaimed, holding Bailey's hand to stop them from falling off of the platform.
Bailey laughed, "It's like we're—"
"Surfing!" Steve finished her sentence, though he laughed so hard he let go of the trolley, causing it to roll forward and the girls to fall off.
Robin laughed, "Wipeout!"
Robin turned her laugh into a smile as Bailey landed on top of her. Bailey starred at her for a moment, analysing her facial features again- admiring them.
Robin didn't push her off, and Bailey didn't move.
The sound of Dustin's voice snapped her out of the strange trance she was in, causing Bailey to frown, before climbing off of Robin, who's smile had faded.
Bailey avoided eye contact with Robin, blaming the drugs for the weird feeling that pitted in her stomach.
