•{The known truth}•-Earth Grace-
"Earth we are going to be late for the party" Nina screams. "I'm coming" I shout back out of panic.
When Blake invited us to his party I was surprised and happy that I could finally go to a real party. Not the party I usually go to where most of the people just are there for business proposals.
I was surprised because it was so out of the blue for him to ask me that. I mean yeah, we go way back, but still, we have not talked in ages, I am basically a stranger to him. Also, the fact that I'm going to a real party, makes me anxious and kind of also ecstatic.
I look in the mirror to check if I look good. I am wearing a dark green short dress with some black heels. In case I get cold I took on a short black fluffy jacket. I smile at my reflection thinking I overdressed "Naw, better to be overdressed than underdressed"
I take my phone and walk down the stairs and hear Nina at the end of the stairs praising me "Wow, I might not be straight anymore".
Smile and nudge her on the shoulder. I smile at her "Were you ever not straight".
She holds the door for me "Not for you...wait do I actually look like a lesbian?".
She says under her breath "Is that why no guy ever asks me out".
I look at her questionably "If they think you're lesbian then that means they think I'm your girlfriend"
We got in the car and sat there quietly thinking about the conversation we just had, which gave us a hint on why we were single.
She drives out of my driveway "Ok listen, men ain't shit". I nod in agreement and add sarcastically "Say that to your boss, or should I say booooyfriend"
Nina jokingly says, "Don't make me crash this car Earth". I laughed at her comment making her smile.
-The party-
We got there pretty late with all our thinking. Even for that, the party was going harder than ever. I follow Nina because she is more used to these kinds of parties.
When I walk into the house, it is decked out with different lights, mainly blue and purple. The music was loud making it hard to hear what Nina was saying. Nina got close to me "I am going to get us some drinks". I questionably say "You? Don't you mean we?". she looks at me seriously and pokes my upper right chest "You need to be used to this kind of environment" Before I could interrupt her, she adds "Meet new people, also don't follow me!".
I look at her walking away and I stand here alone. I would say that Nina is the grown-up in this friendship, she always feels responsible for me anywhere we go. But this didn't make us break up as friends but get closer to each other, she is my comfort and sister.
While she did that, I began looking around my surroundings. People are sitting on the stairs that lead to the upstairs.
I try looking for Blake (because that is the only person besides Nina I know at this party), while doing that I feel a hand on my shoulder making me jump. A husky laugh comes from behind me, and I see Blake when I turn around. I smile and hit his hand "Not funny".
He leans in my ear so I can hear him better "Soooo, so far what do you think about the party?". Feeling his breath on my ear I freeze up a bit before answering "It's ok, nothing I'm used to"
He takes his hand on his chest emphasizing his hurt "It's ok! wooooow.". He looks me up and down and adds "What! I'm not meeting your standards of riches"
