King Viserys sits at the head of the small council table eating.
Viserys: So, I said to him, "Well, I believe you might be looking up the wrong end."
The members of the small council laugh, save for Corlys Velaryon. Who just looks annoyed.
Corlys: My lords. The growing alliance among the Free Cities has taken to styling itself "the Triarchy."
He stands up and unrolls a map of the Stepstones onto the table.
Corlys: They have massed on Bloodstone and are presently ridding the Stepstones of its pirate infestation.
Viserys: Well, that sounds suspiciously like good news, Lord Corlys.
Corlys: A man called Craghas Drahar has styled himself the prince-admiral of this Triarchy. They call him "The Crabfeeder" due to his inventive methods of punishing his enemies.
Rhaenyra enters the room.
Viserys: And are we meant to weep for dead pirates?
Corlys: No, Your Grace.
Viserys: Rhaenyra, you're late. The King's cupbearer must not be late. Leaves people wanting for cups.
Rhaenyra: I was visiting Mother.
Corlys sits down, looking frustrated.
Rhaenyra: And Y/n.....
This got absolutely everyone's attention, Y/n was back. Corlys silently smiled to myself, with Y/n back he had someone to back him in the Stepstones. Lord Commander Ryam Redwyne who was standing to the side smirked, that meant his prodigy Gwayne was also back, it would be see to see what would boy had learn.
Otto Hightower was indifferent, he didn't really hate Y/n, but also didn't really like him. The one thing he was truly worried about with Y/n was keeping his position as hand of the king, fortunately his son was best friends with Y/n, but that wouldn't be near enough to keep his spot, he needed something else. Unbeknownst to him, he had it and didn't know. But if there was one thing Otto liked about Y/n, one thing that always made them get along was that they both absolutely couldn't stand Prince Daemon Targaryen.
The King smiled then laughed in his laughed in his seat, his first born had return he could wait, but he knew he was about to yelled at again as his mother was pregnant, which usually always pissed him off, but he would take it. When the prince left the Red Keep felt more empty, void of some of the life that was there, but with stories they heard for Essos the Prince was busy becoming a legend in the world. Rhaenyra walked over and prepared some wine and began serving the members of the small council.
Lyman: Your Grace, at Prince Daemon's urging, the crown has invested significant capital in the retraining and re-equipping of his City Watch. I thought you might urge your brother to fill his seat on the council and provide an assessment of his progress as commander of the Watch.
Viserys: Do you think Daemon is distracted by his present tasks? And that his thoughts and energies are occupied?
Lyman: Well, one would hope so, considering the associated costs.
Viserys: Then let us all consider your gold well-invested, Lord Beesbury.
Corlys: I would urge that you not allow this Triarchy much latitude in the Stepstones, Your Grace. If those shipping lanes should fall, it will beggar our ports.
Otto: The crown has heard your report, Lord Corlys, and takes it under advisement.
For a moment no one speaks until Corlys appears to concede. Everything stopped again as the doors opened and Y/n walked in gaining attention, he looked at everyone and smiled.
Y/n: You guys missed me or something.
Everyone stood and started greeting The Prince even Otto, he then got to his father and hugged him, as they let go he looked over at an empty seat.
Y/n: I'm guessing that seat as been empty since I was gone.
Otto: It would seem that the Commander of the Watch is rather busy.
Y/n: Who knew whore houses would take up so much of a persons time.
Y/n comment mad Rhaenyra to smile while serving the wine and even made Otto crack a small smile. While Viserys just sighed knowing Y/n was right in what his brother was doing.
Otto: Shall we discuss your son's Tournament, Your Grace?
Viserys: I would be delighted. Will the maesters' name day prediction hold, Mellos?
MELLOS: You must understand that these things are mere estimations, my King, but we have all been poring over the moon charts, and we feel that our forecast is as accurate as it can be.
Y/n(under his breath): That is if you knew what you were doing.
The only people to hear that Viserys and a passing Rhaenyra and they knew Y/n was right, Mellos had no idea what he was doing anymore, Y/n had more siblings dead than alive. It was insane. As Rhaenyra made her way to Corlys, he holds out his hand to stop her from pouring him wine.
Lyman: The cost of the tournament is not negligible. Perhaps we might delay until the child is in hand?
Lyonel: Most of the lords and knights are certainly on their way to King's Landing already. To turn them back now...
Viserys: The tourney will take the better part of a week. Before the games are over, my son will be born, and the whole realm will celebrate.
Mellos: We have no way of predicting the sеx of the child.
Y/n: There is a way you just don't know it.
Mellos: And you do?
Y/n: As a matter of fact I do, I studied it in Myr.
Viserys: There's a boy in the Queen's belly. I know it. And my son will soon put all of this damnable hand-wringing to rest himself.
The meeting then let out as Y/n walked away. In an abandoned part of the castle stood Alicent pacing, this was a good climb and housed one small room, it was never finished so no came up there. Y/n opened the cover and came in scaring her. As soon as she stood up she ran to hug him.
Alicent: I missed you, I missed you so much.
Y/n: As have I, Ali. As have I.
They let go and Y/n cupped her face pulling her into a passionate kiss. It was like magic, they pulled apart as Y/n grabbed her hand and looked at her nails.
Y/n: Ali!?
Alicent: I'm sorry, I've been worried, you were a month late and I thought something happened to you.
Y/n walked to the bed and sat on it and called her over, she walked over and got in with him as he held her.
Y/n: Nothing is going to happen me.
Alicent: You can't promise me that Y/n.
Y/n: I can, and I am. Nothing is going to happen to me I promise you that, ok?
Alicent: Ok?
Y/n: My mother knows.
Alicent: What? How?
Y/n: She's always known apparently.
Alicent: Does she?
Y/n: Approve, more than anything, I told I wanted to marry you and she agreed.
Alicent: Really?
Y/n: Yea.
Alicent smiled and nuzzled herself closer to him.
Y/n: Alicent?
Alicent: Yea?
Y/n: Your the love of my life.
Alicent then looked at him with a soft smile.
Alicent: And your the love of mine.
