It was morning. A calm, quiet spring morning in the middle of April. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and fell to the ground like showers of rain, usually getting stuck in Katsuki's hair on his way to school.
However, since he walked to school alone, he didn't find out about said petals in his hair until he met his friends at the shoe lockers, but even then they usually never told him. (You'd think that if this happened so often he would just know himself.)
Katsuki always found it annoying how they said he looked 'cute' with the petals in his hair, but he unfortunately just had to put up with their crap... in which 'putting up' with their crap means bullying the shit out of the extras.
Moving on, Katsuki's life was pretty boring; it was the same thing every single day.
Get up, brush his teeth, have a one-sided screaming match with the old hag, eat breakfast, walk to school, get petals stuck in his hair, meet annoying friends at shoe lockers, go to class, wait, did Miss Kayama assign homework yesterday?
Do school work, hey what was the dark-haired kid infront of him writing about? Finish work, bother friends who are still doing work, not let friends finish work, be the reason friend's grades are slipping, get petals out of hair, go to lunch- Was that kid sleeping on a bench?
Eat lunch, refuse to share lunch with friends, bully friends, tell Dunce Face he's built like an Oompa Loompa, go back to class, do work, walk home, get shouted at by the old hag for existing, do homework, eat, go to sleep, and repeat.
It was all the same.
Well, that was until something broke his ordinary routine.
On that fateful spring morning, Katsuki walked into school as normal, talking to the extras he called his friends as he began taking off his shoes. When he finished taking them off, he opened the small door to the locker and took out his indoor shoes, only to find something just underneath them.
This caused him to freeze as he blinked at the item confusedly. Shitty Hair was rambling on about some new workouts he was trying or something, but it all went through one of Katsuki's ears and out the other as he reached for the thin item in his locker.
"And then I- what's that, Gogobro?" Shitty Hair asked, watching as Katsuki pulled out a white envelope with a sweet, pink, heart-shaped sticker holding it closed.
For a moment, Katsuki simply blinked confusedly at the envelope, processing what this was, and what it meant, all the while his red-headed friend stared agape at the paper.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Dunce Face had walked up to them, oblivious as to what was going on.
"Gogobro got a love letter!" Shitty Hair cheered, causing Dunce Face to gasp dramatically before they both slung their arms around the still-puzzled Katsuki.
"So, you gonna open it, or what?" Dunce Face taunted.
"Who do you think it's from?" Shitty Hair asked.
"I dunno, but I'd love to meet the poor, unfortunate girl who fell for this piece of-" Dunce Face was interrupted by a smack to the face, causing him to fall to the floor.
Katsuki felt no remorse.
He pushed Shitty Hair's face away from him with one hand as well, not letting him get any closer as he opened the letter with the other.
Carefully trying not to rip the paper as well as keeping Shitty Hair away, he eventually got the letter open, giving one more hard push to Shitty Hair, and letting him fall to the ground with Dunce Face.
