When Cass heard the buzzing of her phone she pulled away from Conan's lips, her eyes glassy as she opened them and scrambled for her phone before picking up the call from Shannon.
"Cass I'm outside" Shannon's voice echoed from behind the phone.
"Mkay," Cass said before walking out of the restroom, not saying a word as she headed outside and into Shannon's car.
"Cass, why'd Conan answer the phone?" Shannon said as soon as she entered.
Cass grumbled and turned her head to meet Shannon's. "Huh- Oh, I don't know Shannon! Maybe because he was invited to the party too?"
"Jeez okay stop being so dramatic," Shannon said as she got onto the road.
"Dramatic? Me? Dipshit fits it more! Because you know what I did Shannon!?" Cass exclaims.
"What? You spilled your wine?" Shannon snickers.
Cassidy puffed out a deep breath before responding. "I kissed him!"
Shannon's eyes widen, still fixed on the dark road in front of her. "Who's him?"
"Conan! I kissed him! I don't know why I did it-!" Cassidy confessed aloud before closing her mouth.
"Conan!?" Shannon exclaimed.
Cassidy nods, staring down at her shaky hands as Shannon starts to drive again.
"Oh my gosh, Cass why?" Shannon asked, more confused than Cassidy was.
"I don't know" Cass mumbled.
As the car continued along the road, the atmosphere inside grew heavy with silence. Cass couldn't shake the feeling of sickness that enveloped her, unsure if it was due to the alcohol or the guilt of leaving Conan without a word. The internal turmoil gnawed at her with every passing second, making the drive almost unbearable.
When Shannon pulled up to Cassidy's apartment she quickly took her things and nearly stumbled out of the car, she walked up the stairs to her complex and when she made it she was shocked she was still alive.
The last thing she remembered doing was flopping onto her couch and knocking out.
