"Hello?"

"Hey! I'm calling to speak to a Mr Highmore."

Freddie switched the phone to his other ear. "Hi, this is him."

"Hi! This is the adoption agency. I'm calling to tell you that we're in the final stages of finalizing your paperwork. Felicity has officially stayed with you for at least six months so very soon, you'll be able to officially adopt her."

"Holy," Freddie held the phone away for a second while whispering 'holy cow', "you're completely serious?"

"Yes, sir," the woman said from the other side of the phone, "I know it's been a long and hard process, especially since you're famous, Mister Highmore, but it's coming to an end. You're nearing the finish line."

"It's super exciting. Is there an official court date yet?"

"Yep. It's for August 31. Are there any more questions or concerns?" She asked.

"Nope," Freddie began, "well, hold on. So, there's another child that's been living with me for about two months now. His parents kicked him out of his house. Is there any chance of adopting there or..."

"Well, you would have to make it official that the child's parents have completely given up their parental rights. That would mean paperwork and possible police involvement. After that, it would be the normal process."

"Okay, thank you," Freddy thanked.

"You're welcome, sir. And congratulations. I'm sure you'll be a great dad."

"Thank you. Bye now."

"Goodbye."

Freddie hanged up the phone and fist pumped the air. He was almost there and he was on top of the world. He then opened the door to his room and found Clara and Cameron with their ears to the door.

"It's official?!" Clara questioned excitedly.

"Yes, Clara! We're almost there."

"But what about..." Cameron began. "Are you for real towards me?"

"Yeah, Cam," Freddie began. "You've lived with me for a while, your dad doesn't seem to care how you're doing, and it gives you a family that loves you and a permanent home."

"Of course we want you," Clara agreed. "Dad's serious about this. It would be so cool to have you as a brother, too."

Cameron smiled and looked down shyly. "You guys are the best."

"Now, why don't we go celebrate with a game of Ice Cream Roulette?"

"Yay!"
