Keiji had gone a few days being a devil. There wasn't really much to different than working, say, a part-time job. Some flyer stuff and just talking to some random people. Overall, it wasn't too bad but it wasn't anything interesting. Being a devil didn't really seem like much. Legends must have really over exaggerated it, he thought.
"Hey, Keiji. How is the devil life for you?" Rias asked.
Keiji shrugged his shoulders. "I guess it's alright. Not as intense as I thought it would be. Honestly, my life as a delinquent was more stressful, so I guess I might just be a bit prepared. Talking to some of the people was annoying but I'm still here and alive."
Rias laughed. "And that's what we want." The president stood up from her chair. "I think it's about time that we start you up on how to get properly used to activating your Sacred Gear. You've been lucky the few times but let's work on fixing that."
Akeno rested her hand on Keiji's hand and brought it forward. "Imagine something strong, and that should ignite the awakening Sacred Gear inside you," she said in a soothing tone.
"Is holding my arm part of the requirement?" Keiji asked, making Akeno blink in surprise.
Akeno broke into a small chuckle. "This is a surprise. Usually, so much people go shy and start stuttering whenever I see them or get close to touching them."
"Probably because I've been in contact with so much delinquents, I just get used to touching." Keiji looked to the ceiling and sighed. "Okay, that sounded a bit gay. But let's continue on with this. I just think of something strong, is that correct?"
With a nod from the girls, Keiji shut his eyes and slowly removed distractions. At first, Keiji thought it would be easy but things turned out to be more harder than it was. Removing unnecessary thoughts from your mind felt like a task to give up at but Keiji pushed on, not wanting to seem weak and a quitter.
A green glow shrouded his right arm. The brightness reflected against his face, alerting his eyes to awake. It appeared to be a mechanical red gauntlet with a green jewel and 2 golden spikes that manifests on the user's arm.
Everyone's eyes widened as they observed the divine artefact. Even Keiji—not fully aware of the potential it had—was amazed by the sensation that ran through him. It was powerful, almost overwhelming to his body.
"I'm guessing this is good," Keiji said, still mesmerized.
Rias took a moment to compose herself before responding: "Um, yeah. That's good, really good. I didn't expect this!"
"So can you explain to me what this is?" Keiji asked.
"Certainly. You've got one of the Longinus Sacred Gears. They are thirteen Sacred Gears with the potential to slay gods and satans. This is the Boosted Gear, which houses the Red Dragon of Domination, Ddraig."
Keiji thought for a moment about that name. "Wasn't that the name of the one dragon that was going wild in the war?"
Akeno clapped. "Well done for remembering."
"That feels so condescending," Keiji bluntly said, making Akeno chuckle.
"Enough teasing. We've unlocked your Sacred Gear for today, so that's enough. Unless you want to stay for longer."
"Nah, I'm good. I think I'm gonna laze about and read some manga. Later!" Keiji said, waving a hand as he left the room.
Rias fell down with a heavy sigh. "That honestly blew my mind. To think I was able to get the Red Dragon Emperor like that. It all seems a bit too much."
Koneko and Kiba both nodded at that. It was an unforeseen event, but they were happy for Rias. It just meant she had another reliable member.
Akeno nodded as she sat by her friend. "I can tell. We were all shocked. Although"—Akeno had a smug smile—"you should join him, he's going to read manga."
