I let out a frustrated sigh because the boy still hasn't answered my texts. How can he be so ignorant?
I scroll through the texts I've already sent and see that he still hasn't read any of them.
I guess he really has gone off the grid.
A knock sounds at my door.
"Come in," I say.
Sang Go-Young, a bit of a rookie walks in and bows before passing the couches and approaching my desk. Go-Young is quiet until he knows something isn't right. He has brown hair that he likes to tousle past his eyes.
What's strange to me is that how could he, a twenty-five year old, get caught up in work like this?
"Do you have anything?" I ask, eyes averting back to my phone.
"Not exactly," Go-Young replies. "But, some girls were saying that the dance community there would be having a bit of a. . ." He moves his hands around, searching for words. "Public performance? I guess? I can barely recite what those girls told me."
" 'Those girls' ?" I repeat.
"Yeah, I went digging over at the college and I ran into dance minors and they gave a few tips to me." He looks at me sternly, placing his hands on my desk and leaning down. "So, by looking into his tote bag, the night of the incident, you took notice of his ID and his college. Did you see him naked that night too?"
I feel my face heat up. "N-no?!" I take a quick breath and try to relax but clearly, that won't be happening. "That did not happen. I had Bo-Ham help me with cleaning him and treating his wounds. He changed him quickly, and modestly. Him and I are not like that. Besides- Bo-Ha-"
"Okay! I got it. Shut up, please?" Go-Young says, waving his hands in the air, beginning to exit.
"Wait-!" I cry, standing up.
"What?" He turns around.
"When is this public performance?"
"Saturday," he replies calmly, exiting the room and shutting the doors behind himself.
I walk to the window overlooking the city with my hands behind my back. I guess our time apart won't be too long, Park Myeon-Jin.
Is it just fate? Or force?
