San and Wooyoung sat across from each other with their drinks, wordlessly exchanging short glances with each other before looking anywhere but the others eyes.

San said he wanted to talk, but they've been sitting in silence ever since they arrived at the cafe.

Finally, Wooyoung spoke up, barely even thinking before the words left his mouth.

"So... you know Yeosang?" He asked. San nodded in response.

"Yeah. He was the guy who pulled me away at the bar. How do you know him?" San asked, genuinely curious.

Yeosang really must've acted like he had never met Wooyoung in his life if San didn't even know about the breakup. Wooyoung let out a bitter laugh and looked down at his drink.

"He pretty much cheated on me," Wooyoung said as if it were the simplest thing. San stared into Wooyoung's eyes with a shocked expression.

"Really?! He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to do that," San muttered, letting his gaze fall to the table, "but I also haven't had a heart to heart conversation with him since college. It's usually just small talk, catching up," San explained, feeling the need to ramble just so he could have the comfort of knowing Wooyoung was listening. Wooyoung nodded.

"But still, I'm sorry he did that to you. You don't deserve that at all," San said with a disappointed shake of his head. Wooyoung scoffed and cocked an eyebrow as he met San's gaze.

"You don't even know me. I could've done the same thing for all that matters and you're still taking my side. Yeosang is your friend. Your willing to discard of a friendship for a total stranger?" Wooyoung asked. He wasn't entirely sure why he was going on his little rant, but part of him wanted to know why San was pretty much all over him, wanting to be a part of his life all of a sudden.

"I know you didn't do something like that," San said in a monotone voice.

"How?" Wooyoung pressed, his voice becoming slightly irritated. San sighed and shook his head once more.

"I understand we don't know each other that well, but from what I've gathered already, your hurt and Yeosang is the one who did that. But now you're trying to make yourself look like the bad guy just because I'm friends with him. You still want to protect Yeosang in a way, even if he doesn't know it," San said, his voice become gentler as he spoke. Wooyoung opened his mouth to speak, but San was quick to cut him off.

"It's hard to get over someone, I know. But Yeosang doesn't deserve an ounce of pity. I don't even know all the details. All I know is that cheating is wrong. And whoever does it doesn't deserve to be happy with anyone."

Wooyoung stared back at San with wide eyes, not entirely sure how to react to San sticking up for him and also knocking some sense into him at the same time.

The two men walked out of the cafe. The sun was setting, cooling off the humid atmosphere from earlier in the day. Wooyoung had spent almost two hours reliving his breakup in great detail, as San insisted.

Wooyoung felt extremely vulnerable in that moment, which made him want to run. But there was something comforting about having another set of ears to listen to him. With Hongjoong and Seonghwa, the couple automatically took Wooyoung's side no matter what. With San, he was able to pick whatever side he agreed more with, and that feeling of San choosing him had an unknown flutter starting at the bottom of his stomach.

Wooyoung turned to San.

"Well, it's getting late. You should head home," he said, earning a small chuckle from San.

"Or do you secretly want me to stay?" San teased. Wooyoung scoffed a bit and shoved San away by his shoulder. San laughed and raised his hands in surrender, turning around and starting to walk down the street.

"See you tomorrow, Woo," San called. Wooyoung immediately turned around and headed in the opposite direction back to his apartment, his only thoughts the entire time being a replay of San calling Wooyoung that nickname.

~~~
Wooyoung spent the night restlessly staring at the ceiling.
He wanted to get rid of San. The feelings he had towards the other was getting to be far too confusing for his liking.
He found San annoying. It was annoying how the man would somehow always run into him. And of course he had to start a conversation.
But then Wooyoung's mind would go back to the day of the restroom incident. His mind would unconsciously replay their kiss, making his heart rate speed up.
Wooyoung whined and rolled over onto his stomach, burying his head in his pillows.
I do NOT like San.
Nope. Not at all. In fact, I hate him.
He said, his words being muffled by his pillow.
~~~

The next morning, Wooyoung rolled out of bed and went straight to the shower.

He was standing under the hot water, running his hands through his wet hair as he couldn't help but get caught up in the same thoughts as last night. He sighed and rested his head against the tiled wall.

~~~
Wooyoung had been at the company for a few hours. He doubled up on vocal lessons with Yunho since he had nothing better to do. After he was done with lessons, he went straight for a practice room.
Wooyoung danced harder than he ever had before. He had a lot to get off his mind.
The bass was booming off the walls as he danced to one of Hongjoong's demos that the man had sent to him. Wooyoung's hair clung to his forehead from his sweat.
Once the song was over, Wooyoung collapsed to the floor, his chest heaving up and down.
"Having fun?" He heard a husky voice ask. Wooyoung stood yo so fast that he had to steady himself by leaving against the wall. San was standing a few feet away from him, an unreadable expression on his face.
"How- how did you get in here?" Wooyoung asked in between gulps of air. Bending down to retrieve his water bottle before chugging about half of the water down. San shrugged and let a small smirk spread across his face.
"You didn't lock the door this time," he said. Wooyoung rolled his eyes and set his water bottle down on the floor again.
"Fine, why are you here then?" Wooyoung asked in an annoyed tone. San locked his gazed on Wooyoung's.
"Do you want to go have drinks with me?" He asked. Wooyoung's eyes widened and he quickly looked to the ground.
"Why all of a sudden?" Wooyoung asked, earning a low chuckle from San.
"To talk more. Believe it or not, I quite enjoyed yesterday," the man said, leaning against the wall and tilting his head towards Wooyoung.
Wooyoung stared at the ground for a good few seconds before nodding slowly, looking up to meet San's gaze.
"Sure. But only if we go to one bar in particular," Wooyoung said as he bent to grab his things before heading to the door.
"Lead the way."
