the next weekend came by so quickly and it was finally the day of minerva's party I was very excited to go because there was going to be loud music and amazing food there as soon as the school bell rang I immediately rushed out of school like sonic the hedgehog to get home once I got home I made it up to my bedroom I didn't bother to glance over at my mom because obviously she would yell at me for giving her dirty looks the party was going to start at six so I grabbed my outfit and got changed

after that I continued getting ready I was getting more and more excited I just wanted the party to start already an hour later I was ready to go I had all my stuff ready and I was really excited but I wasn't going to sneak out the front door this time it would be too risky plus if francis saw she would snitch on me and I wouldn't make it to the party the house was pretty loud for this time of evening I could hear my mom downstairs talking and laughing with aunt judy and my sister was on the phone to ariana now was the perfect time to escape I slowly opened my bedroom window I closed it a little bit so my mom and sister didn't know I escaped I carefully climbed down the drainpipe before my feet touched the ground I didn't waste a single second I began to race down the street

once I made it to the party I felt relieved I made it in one piece I entered the house seeing minerva straight away I ran up to her before saying
'hey girl happy birthday'
minerva smiled brightly before exclaiming
'thank you orie you look absolutely wonderful tonight I hope you enjoy yourself while you're here'
I replied
'thank you oh yeah here's your present and birthday card I hope you like your present'
she looked at present that was wrapped in shiny silver wrapping paper she said joyfully
'thank you I hope you enjoy yourself'
I began to walk around carefully there was too many people how was I going to find the rest of my friends in this crowd I managed to make my way outside to the garden where it was a bit quieter and there was less people all of a sudden I bumped into someone I didn't know who it was I began saying
'I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going I didn't mean to bump into you'
I looked up to see it was ace he helped me up straight away as soon as I was back on my two feet he said to me calmly
'it's ok you don't need to apologise aurora'
his smile didn't last long he had worried look on his face I asked worriedly
'ace are you ok you look really worried do you want to talk about it'
he nodded his head we both headed back inside where there was still crowds of people most likely drunk or just wanting to enjoy the party we headed upstairs and found a guest bedroom no one was in here so I closed the door quietly me and ace both sat down on the bed I whispered to him
'so what's up'
he explained
'I'm really worried about something and I don't know how to explain it in words'
I already wanted to know what he was worried about because it was starting to make me feel anxious whatever it was I was hoping it wasn't going to change anything I asked him calmly
'what are you worried about you can tell me'
ace still looked worried he managed to reply with
'I don't know if I want to say it though'
I explained
'its ok if you want to say that's your choice but if you want to say it now then that's also ok'
we both sat there in silence I could still hear the loud music from downstairs it distracted me in some kind of way I wasn't focused on anything anymore I was just focused on what was going on downstairs all of a sudden I felt two pairs of hands on my shoulders I didn't want to say anything I just let the moment happen aces lips came close to mine as I slowly closed my eyes and he kissed me in my brain I was screaming
'OH SHIT PLEASE SAY THIS ISN'T HAPPENING'
the kiss continued for a few seconds before ace pulled away I still didn't say anything another few seconds past and we began kissing again except this one fell a bit more intense suddenly I heard sydney's voice
'ace aurora are you both in there are you two ok'
we immediately pulled away I responded
'yeah both of us are ok'
we both left the guest bedroom I could feel myself starting to overthink it was starting to become unbearable I began to make my way back downstairs I managed to find minerva and I explained to her
'minerva I'm going home now thanks for letting me come I really enjoyed the party'
minerva smiled before saying
'no problem orie see you later'
as soon as I got out the house I began to race home about twenty minutes later I made it home I began to carefully climb back up the drainpipe as soon as I made it back into my room I began to cry my eyes out I couldn't hold back my tears anymore
