The sound of the school bell filled the air, signalling the end of another day of classes. Berry packed up her things and put them inside of the locker, a mix of anticipation and nervousness swirling through her. Today was the day she had decided to tell Berry how she truly felt about him.

Taking a deep breath to steady her racing heart,  Berry saw Tenitsue walking towards her. His smile, as always, sent a flutter through her chest. They exchanged greetings with their usual casual banter, both still blissfully unaware of the significance of the moment.

As Tenitsue leaned against the locker next to hers, he glanced over at her. "Hey, I wanted to ask you something."

Berry's heart skipped a beat. Could he know? She tried to keep her nerves hidden, maintaining a casual expression. "Sure, what's up?" she asked, her voice steady despite her internal tumult.

Tenitsue ran a hand through his hair, looking both earnest and slightly nervous. "Well, I've been thinking lately, and I have something I need to say to you. Can we... talk somewhere private for a bit?"

Her heart hammering in her chest, I nods. "Yeah, sure. We can go to the rooftop; it's usually pretty empty this time of day."
Tenitsue nodded, looking a little relieved. "That sounds good."
They made their way to the rooftop, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. The rooftop was indeed deserted, the city skyline stretching out before them in all directions. Berry's hands fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, her breaths slightly uneven.

They stood there for a moment, both silent, staring out at the view. Finally, He turned to Berry, his eyes meeting hers. "I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now," he began, voice slightly shaky.
Berry froze. Her heart was pounding so loud she was sure he could hear it. "Y-yeah?" she managed to say, trying to sound nonchalant.

tenitsue took a breath, seeming to gather his courage. "Berry, there's something I need to tell you. Something I've been feeling for a long time now."
Her heart was in her throat, each beat a thunderous thump in her ears. 'Is he saying what I think he's saying?' she wondered, her stomach filled with butterflies. "What is it, Hun?" she asked, praying her voice sounded steady.

He looked at her for a moment, his eyes deep and serious. "I like you," he said finally, his voice quiet but firm. "In more than just a friend way."

Berry's heart felt like it might explode out of her chest. He liked her. He liked her. She stared at him for a moment, speechless, her mind struggling to process the words. Tenitsue shifted nervously, misinterpreting her silence for disapproval. "I know this might come as a surprise," he continued. "But I just couldn't keep it in anymore."

A mix of emotions coursed through berry. Surprise, joy, nervousness, hope. She opened her mouth to respond, but for a moment, words failed her. Taking a deep breath, she finally managed to speak. "I... I like you too," she whispered.

his eyes widened, his face brightening in surprise and relief. "You... you do?" he asked, unable to hide the hopefulness in his voice.

Berry nodded, a small, tentative smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Yeah," she confirmed, her voice regaining some of its usual strength. "I do. For a while now, actually."
Tenitsue mirrored her smile, his relief and joy palpable. "I had no idea," he admitted with a soft laugh. "I thought you only saw me as a friend."

She couldn't help but laugh too, her nerves easing a bit. "Well, I guess we were both clueless."
They stood there for a moment, the realization of their mutual feelings hanging between them. He took a step closer to her, closing some of the distance between them. "So..Now what?" he asked, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

Berry looked up at Tenitsue, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. They stood there, so close now that she could almost feel the heat of his body. "I'm not sure," she admitted. "I've never been in a relationship before."
He chuckled softly. "Neither have I." He reached out, gently taking her hand in his. "But I know one thing," he said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "I want to try."

A smile grew on Berry's face, her hand clasped in Tenitsue's. "I want to try too," she replied, a new certainty in her voice. "I can't promise it'll be easy," she added, a hint of her usual wit returning. He grinned back at her. "I wouldn't expect any less," he said, his thumb brushing over the back of her hand. "But I think we can figure it out together."
