A Couple of Days Later...

Phyllis POV

The interview was over, the editing was done, and now the day is here. ABC News has been promoting this exclusive interview for the last 6 days. I sat next to Druex as the family and attorneys gathered around the TV. I grabbed his hand, for I was scared and nervous about how it turned out. "It's going to be fine love," Dru said. I looked at him and replied, "I pray that you are right." My step-mom Brooke reached across my dad to grab my hand. "It'll be fine, sweetheart." I squeezed her hand as my dad sat next to her. "It's starting!" Will declared. Everyone grew silent as all eyes were glued to the TV.

Announcer: Tonight...In an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts...Phyllis Jackson speaks about the death of her daughter Aaliyah Marie Frederic. 20/20 starts now.

Woman: Good evening and welcome to this special edition of 20/20 news. I'm Diane Sawyer. Phyllis Jackson is the daughter of famous musician Michael Jackson. Normally, Phyllis would be in the camera talking about her father, his triumphs, and trails; how Jackson is climbing back on the musical charts but tonight isn't about Michael. It's not even about Phyllis Jackson herself. It's about her daughter, Aaliyah Marie Frederic, who was tragically shot to death 3 years ago in Long Beach, California. Now, new developments are forming, a shocking arrest has been made, and Phyllis is not only requesting answers, but she's also demanding justice for her daughter. Tonight, ABC News reporter Robin Roberts sits down and talks to Phyllis about how life has been without her dear Aaliyah and how the Jackson Family is preparing for court one more time.
