Seated in one of the armchairs with my tablet on my lap, I let my mind wander. Suddenly, the door swung open abruptly, and Ri An burst into the room without a word to me.

"What was all that about?" he exclaimed, clearly angry.

"What are you talking about?" I replied, still focused on my screen.

"First, you leaving He Ra's house with the scholarship student, then him kissing your sister minutes later," he retorted, his face tense.

"I fail to see how that's any of your concern, Ri An. I go out with whomever I want, wherever I want, and Jae I can kiss whoever she wants," I responded calmly.

"For someone who wants nothing to do with me anymore, you seem awfully clingy," he retorted.

"He kissed her in front of everyone!" he exclaimed.

"And? Does it bother you?" I retorted, indifferent.

"Don't you mind?" he asked, perplexed.

"This conversation is going in circles, Ri An. Just leave," I said, annoyed.

Tension filled the room. Ri An clenched his fists, visibly upset. "Whatever reason led you to leave or hang out with that loser, I'll find out, and you'll have to explain what's going on."

His response unnerved me, so I tried to deflect with a mocking remark, "Search all you want, Ri An. If it keeps you busy and stops you from chasing after me like this."

"I'm ready to do whatever it takes, no matter how long or what means it requires. Even if it means turning this school upside down, I'll uncover what happened that night, and you'll finally get back to where you belong."

"My place? And where exactly is that, Ri An? By your side?" I asked bitterly. "Change your plans and forget about me for a while. You're getting on my nerves."

I decided to stand up, still holding my tablet. Walking past him, I stopped near the exit. "Has your mother returned?"

"How do you know?" he asked.

"You seem tense and more irritated than usual," I replied with a smirk. "She sent me a message. She wants me to have dinner at your place soon. She doesn't know about us, does she?"
