Ethan's POV
I stared out the window of the cabin, the moon casting a silver light over the forest. The night was peaceful, a stark contrast to the turmoil swirling inside me. Being back in Brookhaven felt surreal. After all the chaos and battles, it was strange to be standing here, trying to find a new normal.
I could hear the murmurs of conversation behind me. Kevin and Enna were discussing our next steps, their voices a comforting background noise. I knew they had been through so much together, and sometimes I felt like an outsider. But they had welcomed me in, and I was determined to prove myself.
I turned away from the window and walked over to the table where the others were gathered. Violace and Violett were deep in conversation, their faces serious. Stacy was sketching something on a piece of paper, her brow furrowed in concentration. Willow and William were discussing strategies, their voices low but intense.
"Hey, Ethan," Enna called, glancing up from her discussion with Kevin. "What do you think? Any ideas on how we can move forward?"
I took a deep breath, stepping closer to the group. "I think we need to focus on our strengths and work on our weaknesses. We've faced a lot of challenges, but we've always found a way through. If we stick together and trust each other, we can overcome anything."
Kevin nodded, his eyes thoughtful. "You're right. We need to be united in this. No more doubts or second-guessing. We have to trust each other completely."
I felt a surge of determination. These people had become my family, and I would do anything to protect them. "I've been thinking about our next steps," I said, my voice steady. "We need to gather more information about the shadows. Find out where they're coming from and how we can stop them for good."
Enna nodded, her expression serious. "Agreed. We need to be prepared for anything. But we also need to take care of ourselves. We've been through a lot, and we can't afford to burn out."
Violace looked up, his eyes sharp. "We'll find a way. We always do. But we need to stay focused and keep pushing forward."
Violett nodded, her expression determined. "We've come this far. We can't give up now."
As the conversation continued, I felt a sense of resolve settle over me. We had faced so many challenges, but we had always come out stronger. I knew we could do it again.
Later that night, I lay in my bed, staring up at the ceiling. My mind was racing, filled with thoughts of our next steps and the battles that lay ahead. But there was also a sense of hope. We had each other, and that was enough.
I closed my eyes, letting the sounds of the forest lull me to sleep. Tomorrow was a new day, and I was ready to face it with my friends by my side. Together, we could overcome anything.
