School was over and I walked home with a smile on my face. First day of school was amazing. It wouldn't have been without Yuji. He was the type of kind hearted person I got along with so fast.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!"

I look up all caught up in thought. I bumped into a guy with jet black spiky hair. With a resting face that didn't look so happy.

"I'm so sorry! I'll make sure to be more careful next time." I say and continue walking off faster.

"How was school y/n?" My mother asks at the dinner table.

"It was actually pretty good. It started off pretty bad but this guy I met Yuji really turned that around for me," I replied with a smile as I blew on the hot ramen.

"Wow, you should invite him to dinner sometime. I'd love to meet him,"she said.

"Definitely you would love him mom," I say then finish up the rest that's left over.

The night goes by fast and by the time I know it my alarm goes off. I am more than ready for school knowing what to expect.

Walking in I immediately look for my new friend. But he's nowhere to be seen. I go to my first class with Sensei Gojo and he isn't in his seat.

"Have any idea where he is?" Asks Sensei and I reply shaking my head no.

I then walk over to my seat as I sit like the rest of the class, tired and bored. But Gojo Sensei does get a few smiles out of me, as his humor is very silly.

"Sorry I'm late! Woke up late this morning," Yuji calls out as he walks in.

He immediately looks at me and smiles walking towards his seat.

"Glad you're here, take a seat!" Sensei says getting back to the topic we were just on.

"Did I miss anything important?" He turns to me and whispers.

"Not anything but a few dad jokes," I smile and he smiles back, turning back around. He then slowly falls asleep as usual.

At lunch I shared my rice cakes with Yuji as he talked about how he was thinking about joining the track team.

"I think it would be good. You do look like the athletic type," I replied, chewing on my rice.

"I'll see. I mean I know I'm really fast, it's just not my type of thing. I know the track coach would be really happy though," He says wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"By the way, thanks so much for the rice cakes. They were delicious!" He says, bowing his head.

"My mom made them. I told her about you and she said you are welcome to come to dinner," I say. I was kinda nervous he'd deny the offer. The look on his face said otherwise.

"Really? I'd love to!"
