I woke up to the rhythmic sound of raindrops hitting the roof, instantly feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity. The cold air in my room gave me a refreshing chill, reminding me of the mornings I had missed in Forks over the past month. It was a relief to be back in my hometown, where I could wear my cozy sweaters and indulge in hot cocoa whenever I pleased. Today marked my first day at the new school, and while I was excited, I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous about how I would fit in with the other students. I hoped that everything would go smoothly and that I would make friends. Taking a deep breath, I listened to the rain splattering against the house, trying to calm my racing thoughts, the rain always calmed me. I don't know why it did, just something about the cold made me feel happy. I quickly got out of bed, ensuring the covers were neat, and gathered my outfit for the day. My look was completed: a white crop top, a red sweater, faded blue ripped jeans, my lucky bracelet, gold hoop earrings, and black ankle-heeled boots.

After a shower, and curled hair, I decided to do my makeup for the day. I blended the foundation, concealer, contour, highlighter, and blush. I decided to do a gradient shadow with brown eye shadow and gold glitter, black cat eye eyeliner, and ended the look with dark brown lipstick. I went downstairs to see if Bella was ready for our first day together at Forks High School. Dad's keys weren't on the key hook, and his cruiser wasn't in the driveway so I realized he'd already left for work like usual. I noticed a sticky note on the kitchen table, Dad's handwriting was sprawled over it. I picked it up and read what my father wrote:

Have a good day, I'll see you after work. Love you girls

As I finished a bowl of cinnamon apple oats and a glass of orange juice, I noticed only my father's dirty bowl and coffee mug were left in the sink. Is Bella still asleep? I wondered, leaning sideways to glance up at the stairs. "Bella, are you ready to go?" I called out from the bottom of the stairs but didn't hear anything back. Sighing, I walked back upstairs, hoping she would listen to me this time. "Bella, come on, we're going to be late!" I sighed, knocking on her bedroom door. Only a small groan came from inside. I didn't want to be late on our first day, what kind of impression would that be? I wanted to get to school and find out my schedule, and if they have a cheer squad. I wanted to have some sort of normalcy in my new school. I didn't want my routine to be changed all because my sister arrived. "Bella, can you hear me?!" I yelled, banging on the door.

"Five more minutes..." My sister groaned groggily, shuffling coming from the other side of the door. I kept knocking for a few minutes, continuing to call her name. "Just go away, Roxi!"
Bella screamed at me, throwing what I assumed was a pillow at the door with a thud. My frustration took over, and I slammed my fist against her door causing it to rattle on its hinges. "Screw it! Find your own way there!" I stormed back downstairs, grabbed my keys, and slammed the front door, causing the windows to shake from the impact. As I settled into the driver's seat of my car, a surge of anger pulsed through me. "That girl is going to be the death of me!" I muttered under my breath, taking a deep breath to calm myself. I wished today would just go to plan. I had wanted to wake up, have breakfast, and go to school together with Bella with no issues. But, of course, Bella never made things go easy. There was always some sort of issue with her.

It was our first day at school and Bella wasn't even ready yet! Does she want to be late? I thought to myself, turning the ignition on, I cranked up the radio, tuning in to my favorite station that always played the best tunes. Tossing my backpack onto the passenger seat, I navigated through the streets, determined not to let my sister's antics ruin my day. The clouds outside started to darken to a dark greyish black, and rain started to pour down and grow rapidly. It felt like nature was mimicking my anger, but, the rain truly was soothing to listen to. I drove with the windshield wipers on, the sound of the rain seemed to ease my anger until it disappeared fully. After a few minutes of driving, the rains started to let up and the clouds lightened back to their usual grey. Huh, that's weird. I thought, shrugging it off.
