June 18

One morning, I entered the Potions classroom to find our usual group—Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and Matteo—already gathered around our shared table. Draco was flipping through his textbook with headphones in. his face unreadable. Pansy and Blaise were chatting quietly, and Matteo gave me a warm smile as I approached.

"Morning," I greeted, taking my seat next to Pansy.

"Morning," Pansy replied, her eyes flicking to Draco before returning to me. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just... a lot on my mind," I said, glancing at Draco.

"Is this about Draco?" Blaise asked, raising an eyebrow.

I sighed. "Yes and no. He's being more confusing than usual."

Blaise smirked. "That's Draco for you. The king of mixed signals."

Matteo, who was sitting across from me, frowned. "He shouldn't mess with your head like that, Naomi. You deserve better."

I appreciated Matteo's concern, but it only made the situation more complicated. "It's not that simple," I said. "There's more to it."

"Like what?" Pansy pressed.

Before I could answer, Professor Snape entered the room, silencing our conversation. We turned our attention to the front as he began the lesson, though I could feel the tension between Draco and me simmering beneath the surface.

Throughout the class, I couldn't focus on the potion we were supposed to be brewing. My mind kept drifting back to the confusing emotions and mixed signals from Draco. Every now and then, I caught him glancing at me, his expression conflicted.

As class ended, Pansy and Blaise quickly packed up and headed out, but I lingered, needing to talk to Draco. Matteo, noticing my hesitation, stayed back as well.

"Naomi, wait up," he called, catching my arm gently as I stood by the door.

I looked at Matteo and then at Draco, who was still gathering his things. "I need to talk to Draco," I said quietly.

Matteo frowned but nodded. "I don't get you why does he matter?."

I frowned . "He's my friend Matteo."

As Matteo left the classroom, I turned to Draco. "We need to talk."

Draco looked up, his expression guarded. "What about?"

"About us. About what you said," I replied, stepping closer."you have a secret"

Draco sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Naomi, I—"

Before he could finish, Pansy and Blaise reappeared at the doorway, clearly curious about the tension between us.

"Everything okay here?" Blaise asked, looking between us.

"No, it's not," I said firmly. "Draco, you need to be honest with me."

Draco's eyes narrowed slightly. "Fine. I don't like seeing you with Matteo."

"Matteo's my friend," I said, frustration creeping into my voice. "You don't get to decide who I spend time with."

Pansy stepped forward, her expression fierce. "Draco, stop being a coward. If you have something to say, just say it."

Draco's gaze flicked to Pansy, then back to me. "I don't want to lose you, Naomi. But I can't stand seeing you with someone else."

Blaise snorted. "Typical Draco. You want it both ways."

I shot Blaise a look. "Not helping."

Draco took a deep breath, his eyes locked on mine. "I'm scared, Naomi. Scared of messing things up, scared of losing you."
