This is where our story begins, at the Gravesfield Cemetery. Amity Blight, the widowed girlfriend of the late Luz Noceda, was visiting her love on a somber, cloudy day. The air was thick with the scent of rain, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the ancient oak trees that stood like silent sentinels around the cemetery. Amity's heart was heavy as she made her way to Luz's grave, her footsteps echoing on the gravel path.

She paused before the simple, yet elegant headstone that bore Luz's name.

This flower was special; Willow had planted it at the Noceda's house during their time in the human realm. Amity loved the flower for its symbolism—a testament to how people, like the lotus, could rise from the depths of their struggles and bloom into something beautiful.

"What am I supposed to do without her?" Amity sighed.

Luz and her friends had embodied that metaphor perfectly. She had arrived in the Boiling Isles as an outsider, a human in a world of witches and magic. Yet, she had touched the lives of so many, helping them to grow and flourish. Gus Porter, Willow Park, Hunter, Boscha Lanely, her older siblings, the Blight Twins and Odette Blight, her father Alador, and even her abusive ex-mother, Odalia—each of them had been profoundly changed by Luz's presence. Her influence had spread like ripples in a pond, affecting everyone she encountered.

But for Amity, the impact of Luz's presence in her life was unparalleled. Luz had challenged her to be better, to break free from the expectations and prejudices that had once bound her. Sure, there were some bumps in the roads in their relationships, Amity had learned the true meaning of love, courage, and selflessness. Luz had shown her the kind of person she had always wanted to be, but never believed she could become.
