                           Two years later

Josie sits in the dining hall, the rich aroma of honeyed pork and spices filling the air, mingling with the low hum of conversation. As both a light wielder and a shadow wielder, she possesses a rare and powerful duality that has set her apart from her peers. Ever since she was gifted with her powers by Odessa two years ago, Josie has dedicated herself to mastering both abilities, becoming a beacon of excellence and pride for the school. Her journey from novice to adept has been nothing short of remarkable, and her presence is a testament to the extraordinary potential within her.  After the headmistress's betrayal, Headmaster Barlow took over Blackmore, and the schools merged together under a new banner: Kraven Black Academy. The once-divided institutions now stood united, stronger and more resolute in their mission to educate and protect their students. Josie, now in her third year, sat at the head of the dining table as head girl, a position of honor and responsibility. The grand dining hall buzzed with the excitement of the first years, their eyes wide with wonder and anticipation. The long tables were laden with a feast fit for royalty, and the air was filled with the hum of conversation and the clinking of cutlery. At the head of the hall, Headmaster Barlow stood, his presence commanding respect and attention. "Welcome, first years. We are pleased to have you all with us" His gaze unwavering as he addressed them, "I have high expectations for each of you and am confident that you will rise to meet them." He paused, his voice steady and firm, "May your journey here be one of great achievement and personal growth, for we believe in your potential to excel." He announced, his voice carrying easily across the room. Jane sat on the right side of the headmaster, now spearheading all of the Academies magic training. Creed, now the head professor of combat training, sat on the right of the headmaster. His eyes met Josie's across the table, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause as love simmered between them. Their journey had been fraught with danger and heartache, but it had only strengthened the bond they shared.

"Before we dine, I would like the head girl to stand and lay down some ground rules," Headmaster Barlow continued, nodding at Josie. She stood, her posture confident and her gaze steady as she addressed the hall. "Good evening, first years," she said firmly. "I am Josephine Cross." A hush fell over the room as Josie began to speak, the first years hanging on her every word. "As head girl, it is my duty to ensure that you understand the importance of respect, discipline, and camaraderie here at Kraven Black Academy," she continued. "We are a community, and it is crucial that we support one another and uphold the values of our school."
She paused, letting her words sink in before continuing. "First and foremost, respect for your peers and professors is non-negotiable. We come from different backgrounds and possess unique strengths, but it is our diversity that makes us stronger. Treat each other with kindness and understanding."
"The second rule is discipline," Josie said, her tone firm. "Your time here will be challenging, both magically and physically. Professor Rasmussen and Professor Valero will both push you past your limits. You must be prepared to work hard and break boundaries within yourself. The professors are here to guide you, but it is your responsibility to put in the effort." She glanced at Creed, who gave her an encouraging nod. "Finally, camaraderie," she said, her voice softening slightly. "We face many challenges, both within these walls and beyond. It is essential that we stand together, support each other, and build lasting friendships. Your fellow students will become your family."

Josie took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her words. "Remember, the choices you make here will shape your future. Embrace the opportunities, learn from your mistakes, and never be afraid to ask for help." She surveyed the room, meeting the eyes of as many first years as she could. "I am here to help you, as are your professors and upper-year students. We want you to succeed and become the best versions of yourselves."
With that, she concluded her speech. "Welcome to Kraven Black Academy. I look forward to seeing you grow and thrive." She gave a final nod and took her seat, the room erupting into polite applause.
As the noise subsided, Headmaster Barlow rose again. "Thank you, Miss Cross. Now, let us dine and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter for all of you," he said, raising his goblet in a toast.
