The roof crumbled down, falling in pieces. I coughed and pulled my shirt up above my nose to try and not inhale anymore debris.

Plumes of dust appeared where rocks and stones dropped. Bombs were exploding all around me and there was hardly anywhere left to run to.

The hunters had come, followed by the beastmasters who weilded feral vampires that forcibly fought alongside them.

It was sick that the hunters kept releasing the feral vampires to fight everyone for them and cause chaos. I can't believe they'd be okay with something so twisted. I thought it was supposed to be their job to kill vampires.

They fact was that they couldn't control the things, and most hunters could care less if a few regular people got hurt in the process.

A vampire must have snuck its way into our town. That was the only explanation I had for the battle that was now ravaging my home.

A bullet flew through the air, narrowly missing my head. I flinched and fought off a whimper.

I scampered back inside. It was one of the only houses left and I hoped it would shelter me from the explosions or another stray bullet. I'd been lucky with the first one, but I had a feeling that a second wouldn't miss.

Obviously trapping myself wasn't a great idea, but it was the only one I had.

I'd lost my family. I had no clue where they were or if they were safe.

Realstically they're dead. Hell, I'll be dead soon too.

I heard a break in the roof as it started to collapse right above me. I didn't know how much time I had but it couldn't be a lot.

There was no way to avoid it.

I was about to be crushed under rubble.

Smoke had collected everywhere, and vision was near impossible. It was getting hard to breathe. I felt myself panicking.

This wasn't like me. This wasn't like anything I had dealt with before, but I was still usually more cool-headed. I had no idea what I was supposed to do.

A growl errupted from somewhere near the front of the building. I felt my heart race even faster than it had been.

I didn't hear it get closer. Even feral, vampires had a terrible skill of being quiet.

When I felt an extreme pain in my ribs was when I knew it was right infront of me. It pushed me into the wall, hard. The pitter-patter of pebbles and dust fell around us.

Fate could not be anymore against me. It felt like my ribs were shattering into a million pieces. My lungs were gasping for air, having been winded at the sudden pressure. One of its hands pinned my chest to the wall while the other tightly wrapped around my neck.

My throat was on fire. Oxygen wasn't making its way to my lungs anymore. It couldn't.

The damn thing growled out a disgusting chortle in my direction, clearly glad to have achieved it's prize. It was proud of itself.

The only closure I had was knowing it was about to get crushed with me any minute now.

I tried to force my eyes to look at the creature but they burned even worse the more I tried. I ended up not being able to see anything but a blurry mess.

Instead of snapping my neck like I'd hoped, I felt its breath on my shoulder as it's head got closer to my neck. I snapped my eyes shut, suddenly deciding that I didn't want to see whatever it was about to do to me.

It sniffed at my skin and let out a deep rumble from it's chest.

"Hey! You missed one!" someone yelled from outside. "I'm talking to you freak!"
