The town was awfully quiet for the sight that was infront of us.

"Where the hell is headquarters?" Blake boomed out. His voice burst through the silence and had scared me half to death.

His anger was justified though. Finn desperately needed medical attention, and frankly so did Blake. As soon as they got help, we needed to find headquarters because I was still 'supossed to identify Blake's target for him.'

"Everyone had to relocate," a voice stated from behind us to answer our question.

I felt myself jump involuntarily, whipping around to face the girl who had spoken. Her brown hair resembled my own and was just as charred as mine had been the day that my village burned to the ground. She carried no emotion in her expression, as if fighting was no suprise to her. Upon further inspection, she didn't even look injured.

"To where?" Blake yelled back, not letting up on his volume in the slightest.

"I shouldn't say in the open. If it wasn't obvious, we were just attacked. The higher-ups barely survived themselves," she replied. "Come, let's discuss these matters privately. Half the town is not a part of this, so we should not force them to be."

Finn whimpering was the only thing that made Blake reconsider cussing the girl out.

"Fine, but you have to hurry. My dog-" he started when she cut him off.

"-Needs a vet. I'm on it." She turned slightly, noticing another girl behind her who was tending to wounds from those who survived the attack. Her dark skin was bruised, but other than that, she didn't seem harmed in the slightest. "Kay!" she called to her.

The other girl paused a moment and glanced towards us, wary of why she had been called until her eyes locked onto Finn and she stood up to walk over.

"Millie why did you not bring me over here sooner?!" she exclaimed. "This poor dog, how bad is he hurt?" she asked Blake, completely ignoring me.

"We think his foot is broken," I replied. "We aren't sure if anything else is injured or not, but he lost a good bit of blood."

"Oh my gosh!" she said. "Where are my manners? I'm so sorry! My name is Kay. I was so focused on this cutie right here that I didn't think to introduce myself to you two."

Kay lightly reached out towards Finn and he wagged his tail slowly for her.

"I'm Blake, and that's Emma," he said in response.

I relaxed a bit, realizing this girl seemed too friendly to have totally ignored me on purpose. She was just an air-headed dog-lover.

Finn licked her hand when it was close enough to his muzzle.

"Such a friendly pup!" she smiled. "I can heal him right up, wrap that paw quick and he'll be better in no time!" The way she spoke was just as fast, confusing, and bubbly as her personality appeared to be.

Blake finally breathed out in relief.

"Good," he said, "because we really need to get moving. We were trying to reach headquarters, and it sounds like that's going to be a little farther than I had planned."

Kay frowned at his comment.

"What's your dog's name?" she asked.

"Finn," I replied.

"Well Finny here won't be able to walk properly for a while. He's in no shape to travel," she said. "That and," she added, "it looks like neither are you."

This time, it was Blake's turn to frown. The tension that he has released was back.

"I've been through worse," he argued. "I will be fine."
