Artemis POV

I flew as fast as I could until I reached the villain’s lair, landing I kicked the door down my eyes full of fury and desperation. Seeing Brutus surprised to see me ticked me off further as I stormed towards her. “Where. Is. She.” I practically growled out. When she simply raised a brow in response, as if she didn’t know what I meant, I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Where is Caliste! Someone told me they’d seen you two together!” “Ah…so that’s what this is about.” She chuckled fanning my flames as she crossed her arms. “Tell. Me.” I sneered.

“She’s here, at present in the backroom enjoying a cup of tea with Anubis.” Brutus chuckled. “Why would Caliste be having tea with a villain’s henchman?” She was silent for a moment after I asked that question, her eyes never leaving mine and her expression never changing from its seemingly amused appearance. Finally, she spoke. “Simple, she no longer loves you, we met and instantly connected. I told her to break the news to you a week ago, I guess she hadn’t. A pity.” She chuckled again this time seemingly enjoying the distraught, surprised and heartbroken expression on my face. “I pity you, Artemis. You truly loved her and yet she left you for me.” She said before cackling.

“I….I..” I tried to stutter out a sentence amidst the flurry of emotions I felt, before eventually, all I felt was rage. Rage at who? Brutus. She had taken the light of my life away from me and I did not take too kindly to it. Scoffing I turned my back “fine, you can keep her love. She obviously has no need for me now.” I sneered with an indignant huff as stormed out of the warehouse.  Once outside I looked back once, and only once, before taking off once more into the sky.
