In the distant future, Mirai Trunks was running from an opponent trying to kill them both. He was then sent flying into a destroyed building as ki blasts shot at him. Trunks ran to a corner as he fired back at the opponent causing a line to break and leak sewage. The building was then destroyed, but luckily, Trunks was able to get out of the city in time.

Trunks entered the secret hideout and knocked on the door and was let in.

Trunks: Ranch... It's me. Trunks.

Ranch: Trunks! Thank goodness you made it!
Ranch hugged Trunks before kissing him and let him in. Trunks got himself a cold water bottle and chugged it.
Ranch: Hey. What happened to, Bulla and Neptune?
Trunks: They went to clear the dust on the solar panels and they were caught.
Ranch: What?! No way!
Trunks crushed the water bottle as Ranch hugged him trying to comfort her hurting husband.
Ranch: I made food while you were gone. Eat up!
Trunks: *sniffles* Thanks.
Ranch gave Trunks the plate of food to him and he started eating. Ranch ate her own plate as she sat next to him.
Trunks: Thanks to grandma and mom we finally were able to harness enough energy to fully charge the time machine.
Ranch: Really?
Trunks: But it's only enough for a one-way journey. We won't be able to return.
Trunks then handed Ranch his empty plate.
Trunks: Thanks for the meal, babe. I promised mom and grandma that we would survive no matter what.
