Fleet Admiral Sakazuki was brimming with anger. He explicitly told Fujitora not to engage with Shiki, yet he didn't listen. He was on a streak of failures, a blemish in his rather great tenure as fleet admiral.
Sengoku was on the transponder snail with him, with a rather emotionless look on his face. "Maybe he knows something you don't, or maybe you're underestimating your subordinates." He went back to stuffing his face with rice crackers, then he pet his goat. Sengoku was extremely worried that they hadn't heard anything from Hachinosu, or SWORD. He sighed, and Sakazuki immediately knew why. He and Tsuru were on Tsuru's ship, with a couple of SWORD members, making way straight to Hachinosu. They were investigating the disappearance of the whole battalion.
Before Sakazuki could speak, Sengoku spoke up. "Garp once told Kong... let me think..." Sengoku pressed his finger on his head, trying to recollect what Kong had told him had happened during the God Valley incident. "I always said it'd come back to bite you if you messed with Hachinosu." Sengoku smirked, letting out a little chuckle. "How ironic of you Garp."
"It's better to not reminisce on the past and to focus on the present. To make a better future for everyone." He said wisely, which was a shock to Sengoku.
'He decided to say something smart for once?!?' Sengoku thought, before grinning and half shrugging, then making his final remarks. "Yeah Sakazuki, I'm gonna have to let you go, these skies look awful, in fact these are the worst I've seen in a while". Sengoku hung up, leaving Sakazuki alone in silence.
Sakazuki knew deep down that one of these days, one of his admirals would lose in battle. Which was the exact reason he instated Smoker as an admiral. His first option was Koby, after he had heard about his usage of haki and his heroics at the raid of Hachinosu. Having an admiral without a devil fruit would be a nice change of pace, but their attempts to contact Koby went unanswered.
Sakazuki facepalmed, before calling Kizaru one last time on his transponder snail.
Silence.
More Silence.
Then Kizaru answered? Muffled mumbling and groaning could be heard on the other end of the call.
"Kizaru?" Akainu asked, questioning whether this was one of Vegapunk's tricks. He looked at the snail with the most intense stare before it spoke out.
"Yes. Fleet Admiral?" Kizaru answered, prompting Akainu to bombard him with questions.
"HOW DID SATURN DIE? HOW ARE YOU ALIVE? WHERE IS STRAWHAT? BETTER YET, WHY IS VEGAPUNK STILL ALIVE?" Akainu yelled, making Kizaru wince on the other side.
"I can explain. From what I can remember, everything turned white and then when I woke up, Kuma murdered Saturn." Kizaru answered, before Sakazuki asked him another question.
"So why didn't you kill Vegapunk?"

Golden Lion Pirates Ship, New World.
"Dr. Indigo!" Shiki yelled, clearly tipsy, having downed a bottle of rum.
"How long until we reach Foodvalten?" Shiki asked, puffing out his cigar. As he looked at Dr. Indigo do his usual mime work, he squinted his eyes, trying to decipher the charades.
"30 minutes?!?" Shiki yelled, dropping his cigar before reflexively using his Fuwa Fuwa no mi to leave the cigar floating in the air, before he put it out, throwing it in the bin which was across the room.
As if on cue, the ship's doctor came in with a glass of water, handing it to Shiki, he downed it, before shaking his head, in a desperate attempt to get rid of the drunkenness. Coming into the horizon, he could see the island approaching and he grinned, before wiping his face with his sleeve, the smell of alcohol still fresh on him.
