Jessy's POV

I have been in France for approximately 3 days now and it's driving me crazy, and it was all because Curiosity wasn't there. We literally confessed to each other-ok we didn't, but we practically did, and I hated how I had to leave the very next day.

Now, I'm having dinner with my uncle in one of Paris' best restaurants, as we discussed business.

"Can you handle the client tomorrow without me? Im going back to the states after this meal" I told my uncle, eyeing my phone, wishing for it to buzz.

He scoffed, putting his wine glass down, "why do you still insist on staying at that school?" He asked me, "You certainly don't need the money, and you don't even like people-much less kids."

"My work here is practically done, I have no need to attend the meeting tomorrow since your going to be there, so can I leave you here?" I ignored his question,

"How are things going with the Morgans?" He suddenly asked, I gave him a confused stare, not knowing what he meant, "c'mon Jess, everyone knows about the tantrum you had infront of Ben and Natalie, as you threatened to end their empire. So what's your plan? I wanna help you brainstorm"

Gosh I forgot about that, I've been too busy staring at their daughter. "I'm not planning anything, the Morgan's backed off about buying my land fields so I have no vendetta against them" i seriously didn't wanna start a war with my potential in laws. I awkwardly ate my dinner, knowing that my uncle is growing suspicious.

"Who are you and what'd you do to my niece?" He asked jokingly, I didn't give in and continued eating, "Seriously? You're just gonna let it slide? I was really hoping for some drama, life's too boring lately"

"Buy another jet then" I suggested

"It just isn't the same throwing my money around anymore. I don't understand, you weren't like this before what changed?" He asked, wanting to know the secret.

"It's called growing up" I whispered to him, before quietly laughing, "there's no point in fighting knowing that I would win"

"Exactly! You'll win, if you don't do anything about it, my friends will think you're weak or afraid, and that's not good business" he advised me.

"I thought the Morgans are your friends? Why do you want to see them fail?" At this point I already forgot about the message that I've been waiting for all day, i became more interested in our conversation.

"No one is truly your friend in the business industry, my dear. And like I said, life's becoming too boring, I need entertainment" he laughed, like ruining someone's life was all a game. "Don't feel too bad about it, if they were in our positions they would have done the same. I just pity their daughter-"

"What about Curiosity?" I spoke up, being defensive at the mention of her.

"Oh you know her?" He asked

"She's one of my students" I quickly explained, "why do you pity her? Cuz if her parents are anything like her, they wouldn't find ruining peoples life ‘fun’"

"I've met that girl a few times before, she's not easy to forget." He praised her, I kept quiet wanting for him to explain, "she grew up with money, so if ever her family loses it, it would take a toll on her entire life. Which means no more expensive private school, and ice skating. Her friends wouldn't drop her just because she doesn't have money anymore, but she would probably distance herself from them, it's not very easy being the poor one in the friend group."
