Training a child is not a day job i must be sincere and whoever says otherwise know nothing of this wonderful but stressful job honestly! There's a lot to training a child and it involves loads of sacrifices and patience because each stage of a child's life comes with something new. Most importantly, training a child sometimes is not all about being too strict on them and at the same time being too lenient on them. A child need to be looked after, loved, disciplined and cautioned. From my experience, as a child, although my parents made sure i never lacked anything and were always there every step of the way but then there were still lacking in some aspect as a parent. I used to live in a very big compounds where my neighbors are related to us one way or the other, so there was competition. The competitions were not among our parents but instead it was with us and nope we didn't just wake up to learn how to be in competition with our neighbors, it was an act we were forced to learn. Forced to learn? Yes forced to learn because my parents were always there to remind you of how good the other neighbors child is and you aren't! At some point it was all about how to be better than your neighbors child and be in the limelight that my parents can see just me. These were all faults they had (my parents) until they saw it was causing conflicts, jealousy, confusion and hatreds among ourselves and they realized they needed to make amend and that is what i am grateful for, Alhamdulilah.
