Poem : "The Royal Warrior"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poet's Note:

This poem highlights how true bravery can break all the rules and shows that honor and valor can come from unexpected places.

It also touches on the emotional aftermath of battles, reminding us that even the greatest victories can come with a personal cost.

I hope this poem inspires you to reflect on the power of individual courage and the potential for understanding and compassion, even in the midst of conflict.

It's a reminder that true strength comes from the heart and that sometimes the best victories lead to peace and unity.

In olden times, fought kingdoms two,

The first king's plan was bold and true.

A tale of valor thus arose,

From one age to other now it goes.

The first kingdom's king, with courage so grand,

Led his army to conquer the land.

Their banners soared, hearts bold and high,

But a surprise awaited, a tale to defy.

The enemy king got wind of the news,

Though his kingdom was caught in a truce,

His army, though weary, chose to fight,

Prepared to face the coming night.

As the battle between the kings did unfold,

The first king's army with triumph roared.

The king watched in awe, his heart struck with daze,

And his eyes only held "The Royal Warrior's gaze."

A turban adorned this brave head,

Through the chaos of war, like lightning he sped.

With the fire of battle, ablaze in his eyes,

His presence alone, took away victory's prize.

Yet, as fate would have it, the ministers charged,

Their numbers great, the warrior was marred.

Badly injured, he fell, fate seeming grim,

And the king, full of sorrow, his eyes grew dim.

Victory crowned the King that day,

A fierce battle won and the enemy to bay.

The Royal Warrior, as a prisoner, was tried,

And a secret so great was unveiled.

When the cloth was removed from the warrior's face,

A princess stood there, with courage and grace.

The news spread fast, like a fire's roar,

"The princess fought! The princess fought!" echoed the lore.

In battle for her land, she fought,

Her bravery and honor, a lesson taught.

The king, amazed by her courage so grand,

Saw bravery unmatched, as she took her stand.

"What would you beg?" the king did ask,

"I don't beg nor ask for gold," she said unmask.

"Return my kingdom, the freedom you owe."

Her voice was steady, her pride did show.

The King's heart's lace unbound,

In peace, a noble decision he found.

He returned the kingdom to the princess fair,

Her courage praised, beyond compare.

The battle was won, but at a hefty cost,

For the king's heart, in love, was truly lost.

Victory was gained, yet love paid the sort,

Thus, the battle was both won and lost.
