Singing

Third person P.O.V

The titans were relaxing in the common room due to the rain. Beastboy and Cyborg were playing video games to no one's surprise, Raven was reading, Starfire was playing with Silkie on the floor, and Robin was looking over the newspaper for any potential problems. Beastboy and Cyborg were getting really invested into their game, nudging each other while trying to get the upper hand. Suddenly Cyborg throws his hands up in triumph “Booyah! Told ya I’d win Grass stain”.

Beastboy just huffs and leans back into the couch “Whatever Cy, you totally cheated.”

Cyborg lets out a fake gasp “Cheat?! I would never.” Both Cyborg and Beastboy chuckle before Cyborg gets up from the couch, “Sorry to beat you and run, but I have to work on the T-Car”. Beastboy just waves him off before going back to his video games, setting them to single player. After a while Beastboy sighs and turns off the system, sighing and looking over at Raven, who was listening to music while reading.

Beastboy’s P.O.V

*Huh, I wonder what Raven listens to when she reads… Would it be rude to ask?* I must have been looking at Raven longer than I thought because when I stopped my thoughts she was giving me an odd look. I just tilt my head to the side slightly and smile “What’s up Rae?”

Raven rolls her eyes at me and goes back to her book “You were staring, and it’s Raven.”

*God Raven is so cute when she rolls her eyes at me.* I shift into my cat form before stretching over the couch and curling up next to her. *She doesn’t seem to mind me when I’m in cat form… Maybe she’s just partial to cats.* I kept thinking about what she could be listening to for a few minutes before shifting out of my cat form. “Hey Rae… Can I ask you a question?”

Raven looked over from her book and paused her music, “What is it Beastboy?”

“Well… I was just wondering what kind of music you listen to while reading?”

Raven seems to blush before pulling her hood up farther and immediately responding “None of your business Beastboy.”

I hold my hands up in mock surrender. “Okay, no need to get defensive.”

Raven glares at me slightly before going back to her book and music. “I wasn’t getting defensive, it’s just not any of your business.”

“Okay okay, I’m sorry for asking.” I head to the kitchen and start to make myself a snack. Humming a song to myself that’s been stuck in my head recently. After making my snack I head to my room to watch some movies, losing track of time and accidentally missing dinner. I ended up leaving my room around midnight for another snack. After making another snack I head back to my room, but I get distracted by soft music coming from Raven’s room. *Raven’s listening to music at midnight? Shouldn’t she be asleep? Well… Not like I’m in a position to judge her.* I subconsciously crept closer to her door as my curiosity got the best of me. I leaned closer to the door and tried to quiet my breathing to hear the music better. I could hear Raven singing along to the song that’s playing, her voice turning into a siren like lure.

…If there’s a prize for rotten judgement

I guess I’ve already won that

No man is worth the aggravation

That’s ancient history, been there, done that!
