Third Person POV

Beastboy and Terra have been dating for around four months now. Despite their assumed compatibility they’ve been having fights almost constantly during their relationship, with some of the Titans even suggesting that they break up for their continued mental health. The other Titans are confused about what’s going on between the seemingly perfect pair, even Raven, despite her dislike of Terra, is concerned with their relationship troubles. After coming home from a recent crime alert Raven overhears another fight between the changeling and the geomancer.

“Why are you so upset over this? It’s not like I said anything that’s not true” Terra’s snarky tone made the rest of the Titans cringe inwardly and make their way towards their rooms, not keen to get drawn into their fight.

“No you aren’t, Raven isn’t creepy at all. You’re just judging her based on her powers and her father. That isn’t fair to her.” Raven was surprised to hear Beastboy defending her to his girlfriend. Sure they had gotten closer over the years but she still didn’t expect her teammate to fight with his partner over her.

“Why are you defending her? I’m your girlfriend. You should be agreeing with me!” Terra sounded like a spoiled child not getting the toy they wanted for christmas.

Beastboy’s reply made the tower seem to go dead silent “If being your boyfriend means that I have to agree when you badmouth one of my closest friends, Then I’m done. We’re over Terra.” Terra let out a small gasp and began crying before running past Beastboy and towards her room.

Beastboy’s POV

*I did it. I finally broke up with Terra. Thank god I’m finally done with her. I didn’t know why we weren’t working out at first, but then I realized. I’m not in love with her. The entire time we were together the only thing I could think is that she wasn’t the right one.* Smiling softly, I continue out of the common room and to my bedroom. I only feel slightly guilty as I pass Terra’s room and hear her crying. I shake off that guilt and head into my room. *We would have only hurt each other more if we stayed together, it’s better this way*. I lay down on my bed and turn on the television to drown out the noise of the other titans. I close my eyes and lean back, basking in the feeling of freedom from my most recent ex. I must have fallen asleep because when I sat up the sun had set and my stomach was rumbling. I head into the kitchen to make myself dinner and find that it’s practically midnight. I chuckle softly to myself for my impromptu nap and start to make a tofu salad, something quick and easy so I can avoid waking the others. After I ate I walked back to my room to rest, enjoying the silence of the tower at this time of night, only for the silence to be interrupted when something shatters. I rush to the source of the sound to find that it’s coming from Raven’s room, I hesitate slightly before knocking on her door. “Hey rae, I heard a crash, are you okay?” hearing no response from her only increases my worry, so I mumble *”Please don’t kill me”* before opening the door with the emergency code. When I entered the room I noticed the only thing out of place was a shattered picture frame and Raven. Raven was floating off her bed, in the middle of what seems to be a nightmare. I slowly walk over to her bed and gently grab hold of her arm, pulling her down to her bed and trying to shake her awake. “Rae….Rae!....Raven!!!”

Raven’s POV

“.....Raven!!!” Beastboy’s voice shouting my name jolts me out of my nightmare, with me accidentally jumping out of bed and almost hitting him with a random spell. “Beastboy? What are you doing in my room?” Beastboy rubs the back of his neck nervously before replying “I heard something break so I got worried, I tried to knock but you were asleep… it seemed like a bad dream so I woke you.. Sorry Rae”. *He was worried about me? Why?* “Well I'm okay as you can see… Why are you up at midnight?” He chuckles and seems to relax into his new position on my floor “Well that’s a funny story, you remember my fight with Terra right? Well I sort of… broke up with her then took a really long nap?” I stare at him slightly shocked before sitting back on my bed. “That’s good, you guys did not seem to be working out at all… No offense” Beastboy chuckles “None taken Rae'' Hearing that he’s single sends passion on a personal mission in my head, ranting about potential romantic dates and heated encounters behind the team’s back. I would admit that they were tempting scenarios, but that would lead to passion getting even more vivid in her descriptions. So instead I try to clear my mind for the time being. “So…Why did you finally break up with her?” He blushes slightly before responding quickly “I realized I didn’t love her… and I think that I love someone else…” Hearing that gave me a sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, he could be talking about me.
