Brooke's POV~
It's been a month since the audition. I didn't think it would take that long for them to give you "the call" telling you that you got the part, or "the email" telling you Good job! But, you didn't make the role.
Then again, I never get either of them, probably considering that I'm not such an "amazing" actress. "Brooke! Get down here!" My mom screamed from downstairs. "Coming mom!" I screeched back. I guess I wasn't in such a great mood.
"Hey what do you want for breakfast?" My mom asked from behind the kitchen island. "Um I don't know. I'm not that hungry." I said glumly. I couldn't eat with the many rejections running through my mind.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" My mom asked with a worried tone bubbling in her voice. "It's been month since my audition. I didn't think I was that bad of an actress." I was stopped by the ringtone of my house phone and my mom hurried to answer it.
"Hello?" My mom asked with excitement in her voice. "Hello this is AMC, we would like to inform you that Brooke Montgomery has gotten the part of Callie Esterguard in TWD! Filming starts next week on Tuesday at 4 am. See you then!" The the line went dead.
My mom had no expression on her face, which kind of made me worried. "What did they say?" "You got the part, Brooke." "Wait what?!" "YOU GOT THE PART OF CALLIE IN TWD!!!" "OMG NO WAY!!" I said jumping up and down with my mom.
I always had this superstition that would always follow me around, literally. Every time I was involved with something that had to do with luck, it would always go opposite on me. For example,
When I went to Disneyland across the country from Georgia, we went on the huge Farris wheel, and we wanted to go on one of the swingy carts. Red is my unlucky color, so when we got onto the red cart, we got stuck on top of the wheel, swinging like maniacs.
And when I looked above me, a single gray cloud was hanging right above me. Weird right?! That's why I so happy for landing this role. I guess I can 'smile' now every time I need to take chances.
Filming starts next week! I've never really even watched The Walking Dead before, so I probably need to catch up on who the characters are and what my emotions need to portray about those characters.
----------Filming Day!---------------------
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!! My alarm clock rang from my bedside table. You know the drill, slam my fist on the clock, almost decapitate it. "TODAY IS FILMING DAY!!" I finally remembered as I was trying to remember my dream.
I quickly got up and ran to the shower. After the water ran cold I knew that it was my turn to shimmy out of the shower (lol). It would take about 2 hours to get to set. It was 2 in the morning, which totally sucked, but I think it's worth it.
I ran to my closet with my towel tightly wrapped around me. I pulled out an oversized old cheer sweater, black leggings, and pulled my uggs over my fuzzy blue socks my adorable grandma got me for Christmas.
I dried my hair and left it straight, leaving it the way it was, adding a cream colored beanie. The only makeup I applied was mascara and Chapstick.
Last I slid on my super dorky black framed glasses and brought my contacts just in case. I was ready to go. I hopped down the stairs one by one trying not to make a lot of noise. I wasn't used to being loud on purpose at 2 in the morning.
"Ready to go, Brooke?" My mom said with a smile. "Yep!" I whispered skipping out to the car. I was so ready to start filming and be recognized. We'll be filming the start of season 5 where my character Callie has to run through the woods from a hoard of walkers and finds the prison.
Like my audition, I decided to run over some of my lines and try to remember them as best as I could before filming started, and before I knew it, we were finally at the set! "Finally!" I groaned as I practically kicked open the door a toppled to the ground.
We showed the security guard at the front gates our badges and I fast walked to the main set where most of the extra walkers were kept. "Woah." I said in total awe at the prison. Ever since I started watch the walking dead, I've been hooked, so his was super cool.
"Awesome! You're finally here!" I heard a man's voice from behind be. I quickly turned around and saw Robert Kirkman, the writer of the comic books. "Hi! I'm Brooke Montgomery!" I said nervously sticking out my hand.
He took my hand and shook it, leading me to where all of the trailers were held. "Okay, this is your trailer!" Robert exclaimed. I decided to take a quick look at who was near me.
Norman Reedus
"Daryl Dixon"Emily Kinney
"Beth Greene"Chandler Riggs
"Carl Grimes"I smiled knowing that THE Chandler Riggs was going to be right next door to me. Ever since I watched the show, I've had a massive crush on the kid. I looked up at my plaque on the door and opened it, leaving me in complete shock.
On my left, there was a mini fridge and in the middle there was a huge couch. There was a 24' plasma TV with an Xbox plugged into it. Towards the back there was a bathroom and a dressing room.
"Your costume is hanging in your dressing room. Welcome to the family!" Robert exclaimed as he stepped out of my trailer. "I think I'm gonna like it here!"
