O

ne day while they were watching a movie, wrapped up in each other's arms, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sudden pang of curiosity. There was something she had been wanting to ask him for a while, a question that had been lingering in the back of her mind.

"Dabi," she said suddenly, her voice breaking the comfortable silence between them. "Can I ask you something?"

Dabi was taken aback by the sudden break in the silence, but he could immediately tell that there was something on her mind. He shifted slightly to better look at her, his arms still around her.

"Yeah, of course," he replied, his voice a little raspy. "What is it?"

She turns to look at him, "You have this burns and stitches and I'm curious about your past, what happened?" She ask, "Is that rude? I'm sorry! You don't have to tell me if your not comfortable!"

Dabi's body tensed slightly at her question, his mind immediately going to the memories of the past that still haunted him. But he quickly pushed down the feeling of discomfort and gave her a small smile.

"Nah, it's alright," he said, his voice taking on a slightly strained tone. "I don't mind you asking. I just...don't talk about it all that much. Bad memories, you know?"

"I'm so sorry, that was so inconsiderate of me.." She says frowning

Dabi sees her frown and feels a pang of guilt in his chest. He didn't want to upset her or make her feel bad.

"It's not your fault, sweetheart," he says, his voice softer now. "I know you're just curious. It's just...not a pleasant memory. But I guess I can tell you about it if you really want to know."

She pauses the movie, "Are you sure? I don't want to make you uncomfortable.."

Dabi hesitates for a moment, contemplating her question. He wanted to be honest with her, to share his past with her. But at the same time, talking about it would bring up a lot of painful memories.

"It's alright," he replies, his voice a little quieter now. "I want to tell you. It might be hard for me to talk about, but I trust you. Just...give me a moment."

She nods smiling, "Take all the time you need."

Dabi takes a deep breath, steeling himself for the memories he is about to relive. He tightens his hold on her slightly, as if drawing strength from her presence.

"When I was a kid, my father trained me relentlessly. He trained me like a soldier, pushing me to my limits and beyond." His voice is tense and his expression hardened, but his grip on her remains gentle.

She looks at him in shock as she kept listening to him.

Dabi continues, his voice growing even tenser as he delves further into the painful memories.
