I swung open the screen door to Alex's house and knocked as loud as i could on the wooden door. I was still crying by the time Alex opened the door. He looked really surprised to see me of all people on his doorstep.
He immediately wrapped me in a hug and stroked my hair as i cried into his shoulder. He led me to his bedroom and I told him everything. My face still stung from where Trevor had slapped me. Id never been hit by a man. Alex held me like I would my siblings, and the whole time he told me everything was going to be ok.
I knew he was the only person I could go to. He was the only guy who understood how I felt, and it sucks my parents don't like his. I've never known someone as amazing as he is.
"Madison, I'm always here for you, you know that right?" Alex said stroking my hair. He knew that made me drowsy. I looked up at him sheepishly and replied saying, "I know, you're the only person who seems to actually care about me."I couldn't help but notice his eyes. I stared into them with my head in his lap as he played with my hair. His hair was messy but it suited his personality. I couldn't help but notice he was staring at my lips. I sat up and looked at my feet for a moment, bit my lip, and started leaning towards him. I got the urge to look into his eyes again, and he pushed me away.
"Madi, I don't think that's a good idea." Alex said looking down at his hands. "What? Why?.." I asked feeling a little hurt. "I.. I.." Alex stuttered. "I've never kissed anyone.." I looked him up and down surprised as to how he'd never kissed anyone.
I smiled at him, and said, "Just follow my lead" he looked at me expectantly. "Close your eyes" I commanded. He closed his eyes. I leaned in and pressed my lips to him. They were warm and I couldn't help but smile. Pretty soon our lips were moving in sync and he knew what he was doing. I'm glad it wasn't as awkward as I expected
I pulled away and he still had his eyes shut. I giggled and he finally opened his eyes."Madi" He said as I was laughing to myself. "Look at me" he said smiling. I looked at him. "This is harder than I thought.." he laughed nervously. I looked at him and blushed. "Madi.. I.."
Right before he could finish my phone started ringing. I picked it up disappointed."Hello" I said knowing who it was.
"Where the hell are you!" My stepmom yelled through the phone. I cringed, "I'm sorry, I'll be home in a few, I'll explain later." I said looking at Alex. His face was solemn. "You better be home soon!" And with that she hung up.I looked at Alex, he was disappointed. He stood up, grabbed my hands and led me out of his room and downstairs. "What were you gonna say, before my stepmom called?" I asked looking at him expectantly. He towered over me, "it's ok, I can tell you some other day, don't worry about it." he answered sounding a little hurt at his own words. "I'm not leaving until you tell me." I said with a smirk. "Madi, you have to get home!" He almost yelled. "If you've known me for as long as I think you have, you should know by now I'm really stubborn." I smirked sitting down at his dining room table.
"Fine," he picked me up and set me in his lap. I was facing him, this was the weirdest position I've ever been at on a guys lap. He looked me straight in the eyes, "Madi.. I'm in love with you..i know you may not answer me to that, but I really do.. sorry?" He wasn't sorry at all.
With that I leaned in and our lips connected again. This was so wrong, if my parents knew I was here I'd be dead. I guess I'll just have to find a way to sneak in and out of the house. I have to see him, not just from looking over at his house. Actually talking and being next to him made me happy even at just the thought.
I got off of his lap, and started walking out the door when he's parents walked in. His stepmother almost dropped the bags she was carrying. "ALEX!" She yelled. "Why's the neighbors daughter over when we aren't even home!" She yelled at him. "Don't worry, we didn't do anything, I promise." I said. She looked from me to Alex, multiple times. Her face softened and she answered, "I'm trusting you to, but if I find out that girl is pregnant and the baby is yours, you are dead." She said and smiled at her own words.
"You have nothing to worry about." I said and walked past them. I was going to have to find a way to sneak in. It was pretty late and I missed dinner so, I'm in big trouble when I get home. I decided not to tell them about what Trevor did. It wasn't his fault. He'd been drinking and couldn't control his actions.
I walked in the door and my parents were sitting at the table. My stepmom had her head in her hands and my father stood there staring at me. "Well, what are you waiting for?" He said. "Explain. Now." I sighed, I had to come up with a lie as quickly as possible. "I'm sorry, Trevor and I went out to dinner at the new place that opened, I know I've been gone a while but I wanted to hang out with Trevor." I said looking down at my feet. I was feeling guilty.
"Madison, if you wanted to go with Trevor why didn't you come and talk to us?" "Because he was in a hurry." I said. "We actually like Trevor, we would've let you go, but we had no idea where you were and that scared us, as long as you're ok, we are happy." My stepmom perked up. My dad coughed obnoxiously and gave my stepmom a look. "Ok fine, I like Trevor, but you're father won't like any guy you talk to, go head to bed, just know you have to tell us this type of stuff." My stepmom told me. "Goodnight" I said and walked away. I'd saved my own skin, for now.
