J U N G K O O K

I stood behind y/n, in the sterile, fluorescent-lit hospital room, feeling a bit like a third wheel on a bicycle. Y/n, my beautiful, beautiful student, whom I hugged a few hours ago like my life depended on her.

I could still feel her over my body. It was like she touched me and left me all burning. She wanted to save me, but I ended up getting in danger by myself, a beautiful 5'4ft danger.

Maya was lying on her hospital bed and her face lit up when she saw y/n. They both exchanged a quick smile and my attention was drawn to the other side of the bed, where Sharon, Maya's arch-nemesis and Y/n's now arch-nemesis, was sitting with her cheeks coated with her fresh tears.

The way y/n had stopped her steps, and Maya's smile had turned into something that I hadn't seen on her face ever. It was a terror.

I couldn't help but notice the tension in the air.

Y/n had told me about the tales of Maya's intense dislike for Sharon. They had been competing in nearly everything, I had seen them personally. But now, as I observed the scene, something was clearly out of place.

Sharon sniffed as her head was lying low, and was holding Maya's hand. Maya nervously blinked and switched her eyes between Sharon and now a jealous y/n.

I glanced at y/n and was instantly greeted by the sight of her lower lip pouting and her brows knitting together, forming a perfect portrait of jealousy. It was as if she had just discovered that her favourite ice-cream shop had closed down. Her eyes were fixed on Maya and Sharon, her gaze almost laser-focused on them.

Lia and Jimin were here but when we reached they weren't in our sight. Maybe the young couple had taken a break and went for a refreshment. By my side, my gir—my student.

My student was standing still.

"What's wrong, girl?" I asked, my voice low and came out as a whisper.

She shot me a sidelong glance, her annoyance evident. "This can't be real. They've never been this friendly. I mean, Sharon is Maya's rival. They're supposed to be mortal enemies."
