Chapter eleven

The boys are running through the hospital corridors, chasing the mysterious person. Fin is in the lead, being the year's fastest boy. Stewy is in the back, being tall is not helpful. 

Fin is shouting. "Stop! Stop it! Who are you?" The person is quick. Even Fin is struggling to keep up. He nods to Gabe on his right, after three counts Gabe runs into Fin who sticks out his hands, Gabe jumps on them and Fin then flings him into the air, landing in a heap with the mysterious person. Gabe tackles them, arms around their neck.

"Reveal yourself!" Gabe brutally pulls of their mask to reveal.. BEAN! Fin and Roberto come to a halt by their side. This section of the hospital is dim but it most certainly is Bean. Stewy runs up and can't stop, crashing into them.

They all get up, Stewy sitting on Bean. "Oh Goodie! This chair sure is comfortable."

Fin bends down to be eye level with Bean, his eyes ablaze fuelled with rage. "I've seen you watching us in the canteen these past few days. What is your deal?" Fin stand up and nudges her with his foot. She wont speak.

"Not speaking, huh?" Fin pulls out a small pocket knife and bends again, putting it by Bean's neck. "Speak." 

Bean swallows. "You won't be hearing from Leo very soon." Right as she says it the hospital alarms go off, the doors slamming shut. Fin quickly rises and there is a weight on his foot. He looks down to see Stewy unconscious. Bean is gone. 

"Where the hell is she?" Fin's knife arm trembles, adrenaline pulsing through him. He sniffs out something in the air. "I don't feel too good.. cover your.. mou-"

Fin drops to the floor with a loud thud. Roberto looks around panicked, a hard object coming in contact with his head.

Fin wakes to see his friends on the floor. His head feels fuzzy, his legs weak like jelly. He crawls over to them, one by one waking them up.

Stewy rubs his head. "Shiver me timbers! What was just happened?"

Roberto looks around in a daze. "Fin smelt something, I did too and.. something hit my head, making me black out. The doors are open now, we should go check on Jake and Dun then find security."

And they did just that,  Roberto leading the pack. 

In Jake and Dun's room the boys all sat around their beds. Both of Jake's arms and his head wrapped up, Dun's being his torso, head and his left toes.

Jake is confused as to why his non-crippled friends are so on edge. "So.. what's happened?"

Gabe is the first to speak. "Someone was watching us in the lobby- we chased and caught them. It was-she was bean." 

Jake is in awe. "The girl that saved me from my parents? Thats bull."

Gabe is giddy. "No seriously- she said something like.. we won't be hearing from Leo soon or something. Anyways after that Stewy was unconscious and she was gone. The hospital alarm went off and the doors shut. Then some smoke and we passed out I guess. Fin haven't you seen her in the canteen before?"

"Yes, I'd always thought they were just a school investor or something, trying to act nonchalant. I think I've not seen Bean with her friends this past month.

Jake is more concerned about Leo's safety. "When did the alarm go off? Roughly what time?"

Speaking of time, Fin's Sea-Dweller Rolex is gone. Damn that Bean.

Now Stewy speaks up. "Before we chased I was playing brawl stars. It was 13:48. I was too busying playing, that's why I was at the back." Guess being tall doesn't make you slow then.

Dun gives Jake a weird look. "We woke up at 13:39, we didn't hear an alarm after."

Fin is puzzled. "And you guys were fully awake, yes? It sounded like some sort of lockdown alarm."

Jake smiles at him. "Believe it or not, they wanted to put us in a medically induced coma but we woke up too soon. I just felt like something was wrong and fully alerted. No such alarm went off."

Fin suddenly stands up. "Gabe, lets go to security."

They went to find security, but to no avail there was no footage. The system was hacked into hours prior. This was no accident, right after Jake and Dun's car accident.

April 25th

Jake and Dun have been discharged. Today the boys are finally going to Thrope park. They're on the train, Jake Busy messaging Leo.

J: Only three days left! Can't wait to see you. 🩷

L: yes I miss you jake see you soon 😃

J: I may or may not get you a gift.. 🤭

L: omg yay thanks

Jake puts his phone away and follows the others off the train. Their only goal is to have fun and go on every ride.

And so they did. 

On every ride, 30 to be exact. They used Fin's exclusive-black-vip-delux-card over, and over.

It's finally time for a lunch break. The boys settle down in a exclusive-black-vip-delux-card-holder-cafe/ They've all ordered burgers and hotdogs. Jake pulls out his phone to message Leo.

J: Hey, we've just been on all the rides. Having lunch now. 🌭

L: That's great baby. I can't wait to see what you ordered.

J: How are things over there? Have you ate yet?

L: Haha, not yet. Will buy breakfast soon.

Jake's heart sank. This isn't Leo. The time in China is ahead by at least 7 hours. Leo should be getting read for bed, not breakfast.

Another message. Leo never uses grammar either. Is this what Bean said to Fin? Jake breaths in, opening the message.

L: It's only 7am here! Still so early. What did you order?  Chicken nuggets?

Jake drops his phone. It falls right into his hotdog.

Leo knows Jake hates chicken nuggets.

His mind is running wild.

How can so much happen to someone in such a short amount of time?

Jake is in danger, and so is Leo. Possibly their friends.

Jake has to stop them.
