•*•** 2 months have pasted you, being a third year you graduate a month earlier. Tooru being the man he is, hasn't talked to you since your last conversation by the cherry blossoms. Your school work extended and life after school has been weighing on all of you. The fellow third years around you have all grown quieter, no more talking between subjects and lunches filled with eating. Laughter surrounded the hallways from lower years. You've been too focused on loans. I need £79,000, to buy the bakery or I could pay £14,000 to rent either way it's a lot of yen. Maybe a cat theme bakery would be cute.

You do feel content though, romance can be giddy and filled with joy but also sad and unrequited. Your mind ponders on what could've been as you walk past the doors of the gym. Silence, empty since their loss. You stop, thinking about how your heart used to beat with the sounds of the balls clashing against the wooden floors. A warm face as you peek in from afar. You walk towards it more as the balls throw around and Tooru meets your gaze, he runs up to you and you hand him milk bread. He wraps his arm around you as his teammates try to embarrass you. Placing a kiss on your head while waving to his teammates, walking out the doors to walk you home.

Your eyes turn away from the metal door, what could've been, huh. It didn't happen, instead you're walking home by yourself. You look up to see the sun still in the sky. You walk down the hill. Maybe I should get some curry buns on my way home, or maybe ingredients and make some. Your mind took over you as you bump into someone. You feel a hand on your shoulder and look up to see him. "Y/n, I was looking for you. I was calling you." Your minds a little fuzzy. Did I go insane and now i'm imagining what I want to happen? Your eyes are on Oikawa but your thoughts are somewhere else. You see him talking about something before grabbing your hand pulling you to the train station. He continues to drag you until you hear the sounds of waves colliding through sand.

"Why are we here Tooru?" His hair moved to the wind, a sight you've seen many times but doesn't swoon your heart the way it did before. "I liked you Y/n. I really did, i'm not sure what.. why I like you. I'm going to Argentina, i'm leaving tomorrow. Fuck. I wish you just told me sooner, give me time to think. It feels like you're messing with my head." You could tell he was stressed by the way his hands kept messing with his hair and the way his eye contact was wandering.

" I didn't want a short term relationship with you. It didn't feel fair to me to hold onto my feelings either. You don't owe me an explanation and i'm not going to beg you to stay here." You play with your hands trying to maintain your ground. His eyes met with yours, a look of frustration took over his eyebrows. You felt his hand on your face and he moved in before you could pull away. His warm hands sending a shiver down your spine.

His lips tasted sweet, they moved in a way of faltering confidence and hyper fixated on the moved of yours. Memorizing and correlating your movements. Your bodies moved with desperation, slowly but messily. Deep down you both knew it would be the beginning of nothing, the second either of you pull away it's all over. The kiss lasted as you claimed air from his lips. His hands stayed on your face, most guys would've moved them down. Your hands grabbed each of his wrists.

     Pull away.
ONE MORE SECOND.

                               ONE LAST
                                         second.

Both of you took a short breath before going back to your doomed sense of peace. 30 seconds went to a minute before you pulled away. His eyes met yours glossed in sadness that could've been portrayed as lust. Puffy lips as his hands met yours. The bliss you felt a mere sensation before drifted into a depressing state of regret. Without another word you made your way throughout the sand.

The sand lightly brushed against your legs when your feet would lightly kick it up. You felt cold on the inside a feeling resembling the depth of your mistake. Somber and gloomy. Why in the actual fuck did i do that? Why would i do that. STUPID STUPID STUPID
        STUDID.     STUPID
STUPID.

Everything is ruined because of me. Wanted to much and now i'm paying the price in this regard. WE

KISSED??
                        HOW COULD WE KISS??

Your heart pounded in your chest, the butterflies that make you feel sick started to disperse. Your feelings started to grow and it is all your fault.

   Today was,
                     no is

Short and unfulfilling, like a stale donut.

~~time skip~~

After separating ways Oikawa moved on to be a star so bright he forgotten all about the girl and the girl moved on to bake. Her wounds ached but as time moved on it dwelled the pain away. Oikawa lived a life full of short lasting love, surrounded by fame and money until his life ate him whole. He ended up settling for a trophy wife and two perfectly boring children. A marriage that reminded him of the people who raised him. A marriage he would never want.

Y/n lived a life full of sad pastries and not filling cream donuts. She loved the men who wanted simplicity over painful overwhelming love. She eventually met a man who owned a bookstore, a failed writer. They had four incredibly average children. She loved the man deep in her soul never pushing for better because that's how she wasted her 20's. She learned to stay in place and let life take its course. She puts every bad feeling into her food.

Both of them look back on the days of youth with resentment and regret. Wishfully thinking about what could've been. That's the thing about one-sided love, it always ends unfulfilling. *•*•**
