The death of Tweek Tweak, shook the town of South Park. Nobody knew the cause, and his parents wouldn't release any details. It was a mystery that would remain a mystery; as the months went on, the town of South Park found new things to focus on and Tweek had slipped everyone's minds.
Except for one person.
Craig Tucker would never forget. Despite it supposedly being a fake relationship, Craig was hit hard by his death. Only now he realized the feelings he felt were genuine love and attraction. Why only now, after Tweek had died? How could he not have realized sooner?
Craig felt himself angry at the world. His bitter resentment grew the more he stayed in school, the more he was around all these people who just forgot about Tweek so soon... How could Craig be alright staying around them? How could they forget so easily?!
He was plagued with guilt over everything. He should have said "I love you" more. He should have been there for him more. There was so many things He should have done. He should have, he should have, he should have. If only he could go back, if only he could change everything. He wished for a chance, prayed every night for a chance to fix his mistakes.
And one night, that chance arrived.
His parents would be out of town with his little sister Tricia for a while, so he'd get to be home alone. Usually, this would make him spiral with thoughts, and he would go down a rabbit hole of guilt, but tonight was different. Craig heard a soft knocking on his window, a rhythmic tapping he knew oh so well...
He couldn't believe it. He thought he was being pranked, a cruel prank by those that don't like him, but he could hear it. Tweek's voice...
He hurried over to the window, flinging open the glass pane. He couldn't believe his own eyes. It really was him! His hair was more tangled, his skin may have been a bit paler, but none of that mattered. All he cared about was the fact that he was back.
He pulled Tweek into a tight hug, feeling the tremors that wracked his lover's body. He wanted to ask questions, but he could see in Tweek's eyes he didn't want to speak.
They laid together, listening to the soft noise of chirps outside. Craig felt himself falling asleep and turned over, softly kissing Tweek's forehead. "I love you honey... I'm so glad you're back..."
When Craig woke up in the morning, he found himself alone in the room. He was distraught. Was his brain just playing tricks on him? Was this God's way of punishing him for his mistakes?
He didn't want his lover to leave him. Not again.
The day had gone by in a blur, a newfound desperation for Tweek to come back. But of course, logical thinking told him it was all a hallucination; perhaps he was just sleep deprived, or it was some chemical imbalance in his brain that caused him to see things. When Craig got home he decided to forget about it, assuming it was a dream. It must've been, the grief was truly getting to him. But finally when night fell, he was back. Craig was overjoyed as he took Tweek in his arms.
"I can't believe it... you came back..!" He exclaimed, not wanting Tweek to ever leave him again. He wa shocked when he heard Tweek's voice, he could have sworn it wasn't as quiet as it was now.
"But I can't come during the day... I'll always visit you at night..." Tweek's voice made the room grow cold. Craig didn't care, all that mattered was that Tweek came back. They both laid together in bed again.
"You'll keep coming? You promise?" Craig asked, voice trembling.
"I promise Craig, I won't leave you again." Tweek said with a soft smile.
Night after night, Tweek returned. Craig's days became an agonizing wait for nightfall, his mind consumed by the brief moments they shared. He stopped attending school, ignored calls from friends, and barely ate. His world shrank to the confines of his room, where he would wait for his boyfriend each night.
One night, Tweek appeared in a state of panic, his eyes wide with fear. He gestured frantically, his usually silent demeanor now broken by urgency.
"What's wrong?" Craig asked, his voice strained.
Tweek finally spoke, his voice a ghostly whisper, "The neighbor saw me. He saw me come in. I can't come back if he knows. You have to make him keep our secret, Craig."
Craig's heart pounded. The thought of losing Tweek forever was unbearable, but his neighbor was his childhood best friend Clyde Donavan...
He didn't want to kill Clyde. Clyde was one of the only people who supported him when Tweek passed. He would stay by him when he would wake up screaming and hyperventilating, he was the one that checked in on him when no one else cared.
Craig stood there shaking staring at Tweek. He didn't want to lose the love of his life – he'd waited so long to see him again! Yet here he was, saying that he'd leave again.
The thought was too much to bare.
"I'll do it honey! I'll do it..." Craig finally murmured, looking down at the ground. He knew his father had a gun in the garage, he would go hunting with some of the other dads in town. Craig left without another word, going down into the garage, opening the gun case with a soft click.
Craig held the rifle in his arms, the smell of rust apparent, the cold metal against his hands... Was he really doing this? Was he really going to murder his best friend?
He left through his backyard, entering Clyde's, the door was unlocked and Craig slowly creaked the door open. His eyes refocused to the low lights in the room. He stopped in his tracks seeing Clyde at the kitchen counter. He had a bowl of cereal with him, happily eating away without a care in the world. He smiled at him, oblivious about Craig's plan.
"Hey dude! I didn't know you wanted to come over tonight, you should've texted or something!" Clyde chuckled, smile falling when he saw the look in Craig's eyes. Determination... and guilt. What did he have to be guilty about?
He paused, putting down the cereal bowl, "Craig? Are you okay?"
"I have to do this..." Craig's spoke through gritted teeth, bringing the rifle upwards and pointing it at Clyde. Clyde froze, raising his hands upward.
"Craig!? What the fuck are you doing?" Craig could hear the fear in his voice, it almost made him doubt what he was about to do.
Craig's grip on the rifle was so tight it was shaky. "I have to do this, don't make it harder..." He murmured.
Clyde wanted to plead, beg for his life from the person who was supposed to be his best friend. Were all these years of friendship a waste? Just meant to be thrown away for whatever sick joke this was?!
"Craig, please-"
Bang.
Clyde immediately went limp, head slamming against the kitchen counter as he tumbled to the floor. Craig's ears were ringing, people weren't lying when they said gunshots were loud.
The house seemed even more silent besides the singular thump of Clyde's body. Craig's heart was pounding in his chest, the wave of what he'd done hitting him, but it would all be worth it wouldn't it? He'd be bringing Tweek back...
Suddenly there was a scream of anguish from the staircase. Craig's head snapped up meeting the gaze of Clyde's father. Shit, a witness!
Craig couldn't waste any time as he quickly reloaded the gun and fired again. He fled the house, refusing to look back to see his best friend's father slump down the stairs. His body was trembling, his jaw chattering. His ears wouldn't stop ringing, he probably blew them out.
Tweek was there, though, wasn't he? He was back in his room, wasn't he?
He looked around his room for Tweek, but he wasn't there...
"T-Tweek? Honey? I did it... I did what you asked..." Craig's voice wavered, the silence was deafening, "D-Did you leave for the night?" Yet nobody answered...
Craig didn't sleep that night, laying in bed, his body shaking as his mind raced.
As the days passed it got worse, Tweek hadn't come back, and the police had finally found the bodies. Craig's parents were back home, worried about Craig being alone. They were blissfully unaware that he was the one who actually caused the deaths.
Everywhere that Craig went he felt like he was being watched, the guilt eating away at his body. Tweek was supposed to be back, so where the fuck was he!?
One night when Craig was trying to fall asleep, he heard that familiar tapping at the window. A smile spread on his face, thank God he's finally back!
He hurried out of bed, scrambling to unlock the window, he'd waited for so long! But when he went to open the window he noticed it was a branch scraping against the window... in an instant all the rage finally bubbled over,
Craig cried out as he slammed his fist into the wall. He looked at the pictures he had saved of himself and Tweek together. He grabbed the baseball bat from when he used to play baseball near Stark's Pond in the summer.
He'd ruined it, he'd ruined everything! Tweek wasn't coming back! He was selfish! Selfish and a monster, and he'd taken the only other thing close to him!
"Why aren't you coming back!? Where the fuck are you!?" Craig screamed out, his anger overflowing as he slammed the bat into the pictures in his room. He couldn't stand to see the pictures of tweeks face, a constant reminder of what he'd lost twice.
Craig didn't care that the glass was shattering onto the ground, some cutting his hands as they fell.
"I killed for you! I fucking did all of this for you!" As he screamed and cried, his mother hurriedly dialed 911, overhearing his screaming. Everyone did.
By the time police got there Craig was inconsolable, in complete hysterics, he was a mess, everything broken and thrown around in his room. The police roughly restrained him and took him away...
Nobody could figure out what exactly happened to him, what he had seen. It was assumed it was drugs but it was proven he had never taken anything... despite that Craig himself admitted his guilt, and was finally sent away, where he'd never see the light of day again.
