*Beckys POV*I was at work today scrubbing into a surgery with Jane today. the tension has increased a substantial amount ever since me and Freen announced our proposal.
Even Chief Bright was proud of me and even our relationship improved greatly, I have tried to push away the past and it has its pros.
Jane and me thankfully wrapped up the surgery rather quickly as it was a simple routine appendix removal surgery.
It wasn't finished however without any flirting or dirty banter with Jane. I don't know how to confront it but I haven't told Freen as I know she would snap.
As I made my way upstairs to my office to handle some paperwork I got an emergent page from the Chief Bright to come to his office immediately.
As I made my way up I saw him with my mother both pacing and looking nervous.
My mom's Alzheimer's has been getting significantly better as she is on treatment for it and she has been getting more and more aware and things."Mother, chief bright, what is the emergency?" I asked now curious as to why my mother and her ex supposed lover were here with concerned anxious looks on their faces.
"Becky your father he's here in the hospital." Chief bright said not meeting my gaze.
"He's here due to liver failure he's in the mid stages of it becbec" my mother said.
I was hit with a wave of emotion anger, confusion, and sadness.
I hadn't talked to my father in years since I was 8, I'm 26 right now it's been years. And me and my mother never had the best relationship as she neglected me to pursue her career and the Chief abandoning my father and me and my father in turn abandoning me.Tears threatened to fall from my eyes I thankfully kept composed.
"Do not call me that mother" was the only thing I can blurt out. It was a nickname I grew to hate because it was in relation to what my mother used to call me before she met the chief and everything was ruined but I then only grew to love it when it came out of Freen.
"Becky if your still on about that ridiculous thing that happened years ago it isn't my fault clearly you just couldn't handle the reality" my mother said harshly.
The chief just standing there held my mother in attempt to calm her down caressing her palms just like he always used to do when they were having an affair.
"You two are together again aren't you?" I asked my anger bubbling.
"Becky.." the chief started.
"Don't." I said holding In a sob out of anger.
"I will take care of my father he will not see any of you in this hospital as long as he stays here. You will not talk to me about his health and I will be his doctor in care" I said sternly. As much as I have a dislike for my father I dislike everyone.
My mother won't find out about Freen as she's the most homophobic and demanding person ever and she's very old school anyways.
My father is a drunk and doesn't know shit all anyways and Chief bright just burned out whatever good relationship we were starting by starting something with my mother.
"Now please excuse me I have to go treat my father." I said with a bow of acknowledgment and quickly left to go find my father in the Emergency room.
I never really told Freen about my family she's asked a bunch but I sort of just answered her question with a question.
I found my father thankfully relaxed waiting patiently on the patient bed.
"Rebecca?" My father asked as soon as I closed the curtains giving us privacy.
"Yes father it's me. My superiors have informed me of your early stage liver failure. I have decided a plan for you as I am your top doctor, it is your choice if you want to follow it as I think it is the best for your case." I said rather curtly.
"Uhm sure? What's your ideal plan" my father said keeping to himself. Thankfully he's been sober for a year meaning he can receive a liver transplant.
"I would donate my liver to you if I'm a match. If I am not do you have other family?" I asked I understood my father had started a new life with a new family as soon as he left me.
"Yes I have a wife and three daughters" my father said not meeting my eyes.
"Great I will take your blood and we will be on our way to see if I'm a match it shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes I want you out of here." I said.
"Wait wait Rebecca you're married?" My father asked as I had forgotten to take my rings off and put it back on my necklace Freen bought me since I can't wear my rings when doing surgery.
"No father I have a fiancée" i said getting a needle ready to get a blood sample.
"I see does he make you happy?" My father asked.
"What does it matter to you dad?" I asked poking him collecting the blood.
"I'm sorry Rebecca"
"It's a little too late for that dad." I said collecting his same and writing in his charts
"I will go get this tested along. With me to see if we are a match I will be back shortly father." I said rushing out of that room.
As I was making my way upstairs my luck couldn't get any better as I ran into my mother.
I tried to avoid her but she beat me to the chase
"Rebecca Armstrong. You didn't tell me you were getting married and now you avoid me. I'm shocked someone was able to actually keep you down" my mother says with a chuckle.
I turn to face her fear building up in my stomach.
"How do you know I'm getting married" I asked scared of who she heard it from.
"Your chief of course I heard it's not even a man it's a fucking woman of all and not just any woman but a womanizer like you the rich billionaire tycoon Sarocha Chankimha" my mother says cocking an eyebrow.
"Yes mother I am getting married to Sarocha. She is going to be my wife and just so you know we both are done with those womanizer days" I said sternly.
"I see Rebecca but does she know about your little intern?" My mother said adding a smirk.
Fuck how does she know everything.
"I see you thinking as to how I know so much considering that stupid look on your face. I still know you my darling daughter. And I know that it's clear she likes you. And as a matter of fact she's like a doe eyed doll for you" my mother said.
"Mother please I won't talk about you and the chief respect me and my fiancée" I said
"I do not support your marriage it's a mistake you can't even give her kids, imagine how she feels it's not like you can impregnate her. A business lord like her needs an heir" my mother said
"Shut up mother and leave." I said turning and leaving my mother to stand in the hall.
"Fine Rebecca if you want it that way I will have to meet this Sarocha Chankimha myself" Becky's mother mumbled under her breath grabbing her phone out to dial in a number.
"Hi Ms. Chankimha, I am Mrs. Armstrong, Becky's mother I would love to get to know the wonderful woman my daughter is going to marry I would love to invite you for lunch" I said happily.
Freen agreed and now the plan was set.
Becky's mother would attempt to ruin something near and dear to her daughter.
