The Moons Reflection ~Fish N Chips~

Chapter One

Gillion walked over to the edge of the ship. The crew had already gone to sleep, and the moon was bright in the center of the sky. Gillion has been trying to keep himself busy as of late doing tasks and training. But this particular night he wasn't able to sleep at all.

He looked up at the sky seeing how all the stars shimmered and how the moon reflected off the water. It was a beautiful sight, one he would always cherish sense he first made it to the surface. His thoughts always started to haunt him as late and he has been trying to repress them. But this time he had failed to do that and so his thoughts about his beliefs and destiny stirred in his head as he watches the water ripple off the boat.

He no longer knew who he was anymore, well he knew he was Gillion Tidestrider but he didn't know what he was. He doesn't feel like the chosen one his destiny isn't what he believed it was anymore. Everything isn't as black and white as the elders have told him it was, it all depends on the persons perspective. If he doesn't even know what's evil anymore then how would he be able to defeat it.

His mind catches on something, the elders. They have told him so many lies, he has learned as of late. They lied to him, and just used and shaped him into a weapon just to exile him. They seemed to be the main evil in his life. Gillion traced one of the scars on his arms that the elders gave him because he was miss behaving. Gillion was always been scared to look at his scars, each of them laced in a horrible memory.

Recently he has been able to look at some of his scars, the new ones at least. Jay and Chip have helped him with more then they could ever comprehend, he looked at the burn on his hand from the time he feed the fire breathing animals gun powder. And the cut along his arm from when old man Earl had enough of everyone and went Rabid. He smiled to himself knowing he has good memories now.

Then his eyes get caught up on a deep scar on the side of his arm, the one from the night he tried to escape and failed. The horror of that night leaks into his brain and tears well up in his eyes. He takes a deep breath as the tears run down his face, for the first time he's actually been able to cry without being in the castle.

More tears flow down his face as he finally let's out I'll the pent up anger and sadness from his past out. The thoughts that triggered him finally having a reason to be there. He drops down to his knees and sobs he chokes oh his breath and coughs for a moment before he finally manages to be able to breath.

He suddenly feels a soft hand on his shoulder, he looks up only to be pulled into a huge, the person getting on his knees with him. "Just let it all out" the man says and Gillion complys. For a while the two of them stay there as Gillion let's everything out, eyes starting to burn and chest starting to hurt. After his sobbing starts to let up he sees the tattoos and realizes who was hugging him, Chip. As Gillion trys to get his breathing back to normal he realizes that Chip was slowly rubbing his back in a comforting pattern. Gillion intenses in his touch.

"Sorry" Gillion says kinda muffled while he hugs Chip back slowly. "Don't apologize" Chip replys "I neglected the thought that you have been through so much too." Chip moves one of his hands to gillions hair brushing it with this fingers, avoiding knots. Gillion leans into the touch enjoying being in chips presents.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Chil asks slowly leaving the hug. Gillion shakes his head as he leaves the hug, he decides to lay down on the deck of the ship looking at the sky. Chip lays down next to him looking at the stars with him.

"Why did you come out here, I thought you where asleep?" Gillion asked marking out the Aries star sign. "Ollie saw you and told me that I should check on you" Chip says hand inching closer to Gillions. "If that's the case why did you come and comfort me." Gillion reported to just looking at the moon. "because your my friend gill, and I- I care for ya" Chip says locking Pinky's. Gillion moves his hand and holds chips hand. "You don't know how much I appreciate you Chip, you have changed my life towards the light. I also appreciate Jay for being there for my questions and rants, but you are the one that brought me onto this ship and helped me understand the reality of life"

Tears well up in chips eyes, "that's the nicest thing I've been told, but you say it like you haven't changed our life's either. You helped Jay have more information on the undersea and work on engineering. And for me, you have changed my perspective on how to act, you showed me lying isn't always fun and can always have consequences before something bad happen to me, you showed me that being nice has its upsides, you have made me learn so much and because I'm such a better person then I would have ever been. And you have saved both of our life's so much it's hard to count." Chip squeeze Gillions hand.

Gillion thought a little bit, he hadn't truly noticed that he helped there life's as well. He deeply appreciate chips words and it was hard for him to come up with a proper response to that. He settled with saying "thank you Chip" and they laid there in comforting silence. After a while the drowsyness starts to hit him so he starts talking about the stars out loud with Chip.

After a while of pointing out shooting stars, making wishes, and talking about astrology they both decided it was time to head to bed. Gillion let go of chips hand and stood up, he stook his hand out and Chip took and Gillion helped him up. When they made it into the ship Gillion looked at his barrel and shivered at the thought of sleeping in it right now. Chip put his hand on Gillions shoulder. "If you want you can sleep with me on my flat, the barrel would probably make you claustrophobic right now." Chip says with a look saying that it was a suggestion and not a command.

"I'll sleep with you for this night," Gillion says as he sits on the mat. Chip lays down and sticks his arms out as an offering, Gillion lays down and crawls into chips arms. As they both faded into sleep Gillions tail slowly lays over Chip, as a sign of loyalty and love.
