CHAPTER 17

Shruti opened the door and saw Anuj. Anuj came inside and closed the door. Shruti looked at him being speechless. Anupama who saw this got upset, but wait, she can't be upset with such a small matter. After all, she used to run to Shah's all the time leaving Anuj and Aadhya.

Anuj just went inside as he wanted to inform Shruti that she shouldn't be so confident in her love that her love can break them apart. Anyway, Anuj just wanted to have a conversation and she should not be unhappy about it, is what Anupama thought and then she went inside their room.

'Mai kya karti Anuj, Pari aur choti dono thode dur the, ek saath kaise hug karti dono ko ? Isliye maine choti se kaha tha ki neeche jhuk jaaye aur maine Pari ko gale lagaya taaki kisi ko kuch na ho..' Anupama thought.

Anupama imagined Anuj with a smile, but the smile has pain. He looked at her with disappointment.

'Anu, agar yahi cheez tumne Pari ke saath ki hoti toh ? Pari ko keh diya ki beta neeche jhuk jao aur Aadhya ko gale lagaya hota toh ? Ab tak Shah's tumhara dimaag ka dahi bana dete, itne taane maarte ki tum bas ro padti.. Aur mai tumse nafrat nahi kar raha hu Anu, I am just disappointed in you... Shukar manao ki Aadhya ko goli nahi lagi varna zindagi bhar mai tumhe kabhi maaf nahi karta Anu.. Bilkul vaise hi jaise tum mujhe Samar ki death ke liye maaf nahi kar sakti..' Anuj gave a faint yet painful smile with tearful eyes (showing his guilt for Samar's death).

Shruti didn't look at Anuj but said that she is fine and he can leave.

'Ab kya baat bhi nahi kar sakta Shruti ?' Anuj looked at her.

'Kya baat karna hai AK?'

'Baito.. Bahut kuch share karna hai tumhare saath.. Already Anupama se share kiya lekin mujhe ek solution chahiye.. Tum toh jaanti ho, mai aur Anu dono hi galat faisle lete hai..' Anuj said.

'Mai thik hu Anuj.. Aise hi bata do, mujhe baithe ka mann nahi hai abhi, kaafi time se baiti hui thi..' Shruti said and turned her back towards him. Anuj hugged her which she didn't expect him to do.

'Shruti mai jaanta hu maine tumhe bahut hurt kiya kayi dinon se.. Lekin mai tumhe kuch batana chahta hu..' Anuj told that he started to feel something for Shruti but he wasn't sure what that is and till the time he doesn't find the truth, he will keep the distance with his Anu. Shruti looked at him unable to believe what he just told her.

'Mujhe kya hua hai Shruti ? Kya mai tumse pyaar karne laga hu ?' He questioned still hugging her but he turned her towards himself and hugged her tightly and he also told her about how he is afraid that Anu will leave Aadhya alone and how his family will be shattered if Anu prioritize Shah's and he can't handle Aadhya. He tells her his deepest feelings that he can't call himself a man or a father as he failed as a husband and a father.

'Shayad... shayad mai tumse... Kuch toh ho raha hai mujhe Shruti... Tumhare words ne mujhe apne pyaar pe, apne feelings pe question mark lagane pe majbur kiya.. Maine Anu ko kyun nahi roka ? Kabhi Aadhya ka sahi se khyaal nahi rakha.. I failed Shruti, I failed...' Anuj kept his inner feelings infront of her.

'Maine abhi bhi Anu se yeh share nahi kiya ki I failed as a husband and a father.. Lekin tum... Tumhare saath yeh sab share kar raha hu.. Kyun..? Kya yeh pyaar nahi hai..? Kya mai tumhare pyaar mei pad gaya?' Anuj looked at her.

She broke the hug and turned her back towards him.

'Tum koi pyaar mei nahi pade Anuj.. Yeh sirf tumhare dil mei pyaar paane ka desire hai.. Simply samjhau toh, ek bird pinjre mei band reh reh ke ghutan mehsoos karta hai aur tab uska nazar khule asmaan ki aor padta hai ki ab mai thodi der asmaan mei apne wings khol ke unchi udaan bharu.. Tum itne time se Anupama ko pyaar de deke thak gaye ho, vaapis paana chahte ho aur isliye khule aasmaan ki aor tumhari nazar hai jaha tumhe uncha udaan bharne ka mauka mile (to get his love from anyone but just to get back some love).' Shruti said.

'Toh fir mai apni dil ki baatein tumse share kyun kar raha hu Shruti ? Yeh baatein Anu se share kyun nahi kar raha hu ?' Anuj questioned.

'Har baat ek insaan se share nahi kiya jaata hai Anuj.. Dosti ho, pyaar ho ya koi bhi rishta ho, kuch na kuch baatein aisi hoti hai jise hum saamne wale ko keh nahi paate, share nahi kar paate, but it doesn't mean ki dono ke beech rishta hi khatam ho gaya.. Tumhara dil jaanta hai ki Anupama abhi kitni hurt hai, yeh sab batake tum use aur hurt nahi karna chahte ho, lekin abhi tumhara dil guilt se itna heavy hai ki apne dil mei chupa bhi nahi paa rahe ho vo baat...' Shruti turned and saw Anuj staring at her.

Shruti looked at him, Anuj stared at her and then he told her to take care of Aadhya as he can't leave Aadhya with Anu alone as Aadhya can suffer from panic attacks which he couldn't bear as a father.

'Shruti, Aadhya ka khyaal rakhogi na tum ?' Anuj asked her, Shruti nodded her head in yes. Anuj gave a faint smile and left to his room. Shruti closed her room door. Anuj saw Anupama still sitting. He asked her to sleep. He laid beside Anupama and turned off the lights.

'Anu sorry, lekin mai jo kar raha hu, hamare liye kar raha hu.. Sorry, tumhare peeche Shruti ko hug karne ke liye lekin mujhe ek hug ki zaroorat tha, Shruti meri dost hai aur as friends vo hug kiya maine.. Mai tut chuka hu Anu, khud ke dil itna bhaari hai, tumhara dil khud guilty hai aur apne guilts batake tumhe hurt nahi kar sakta isliye Shruti ko bataya.. Maaf kar dena Anu kyunki mai yeh bilkul nahi chahta hu ki future mei hum teeno mei koi jhagda ho, khaskar tumhare aur Aadhya ke beech, kyunki mai samajh nahi paata ki mai kiska side lu ? Aakhir mera dil dono ko chahta hai..' Anuj wanted to cuddle his Anu but if he cuddles her now, he might destroy his own plan of bringing Anu and Aadhya close. So he just held her pallu and slept.

The next morning, Aadhya came running towards her pops and woke him up.

'Pops uthiye jaldi..' Anuj woke up and looked at Aadhya.

'Kya hua Aadhya ?' Anuj questioned and Aadhya gave him a letter and looked at him and glared Anu.
