The day wasn't ordinary. Not in the slightest. If a teenager, who was popular and beautiful, was told that today was going to change her life - she would have never believed it. She would've laughed in their face. She coughed as smoke surrounded her. The fire had totally engulfed her house.

It seemed like there was fire in every direction. She felt like every part of her body was on fire too. She didn't dare to look down. She coughed again as the fire brought down some support beams behind her. She was trying to find the exit but it felt like her eyes were on fire too. She kept her locket close to her, squeezing it tightly.

She heard something coming to her right. She prayed to God that it was firefighters. She prayed that someone got her help. She was struggling to find the source of the noise. The next thing she heard was the ceiling coming down on top of her. She wound up passing out.

...

When the firefighters got to the teenager, they managed to get the beams off of her. They had noted that she was in bad shape. She was unconscious, covered in fire. The firefighters quickly put the fire out on her by using a fireproof blanket. Then they picked up the teenager in the fireman's hold. The firefighters fought to get her out of the house.

One of the firefighters reported, "This is one bad fire, Captain."

The captain (wearing a red hat) replied, "I must agree, Carter. This doesn't seem accidental."

Carter shook his head as they managed to get out with the girl. The man that was anxiously waiting outside ran over to them. With him was a young boy.

"Oh my gosh, Trixie!" The older man gushed, in tears. The man, Trixie's father Ellison, ran over to the Captain and Carter. "I - is she alright?"

Neither the Captain nor Carter didn't know how to answer that. The ambulance nurse, Coco, saw this and decided to change the subject.

She directed, "She'll be better once I get her to the hospital. Get in sir."

Ellison did what he was told as Carter loaded Trixie onto the ambulance. The younger man, Timmy Turner, looked awful. He wanted to go too but decided to hang back. Coco gave him a sad look before closing the doors and the ambulance went off without a second thought.

The captain turned to Timmy and commented, "Thanks for calling us, kid."

Timmy just merely nodded. He stammered, "I - is Trixie gonna be okay?"

The captain didn't know how to answer that one. He hoped for the kids sake that she would be.

...

Ellison was in turmoil. He was trying to keep himself together but he was barely managing. The house was completely gone and Trixie was almost gone too. The doctors were doing the best they could, he knew that. But they had almost lost her on the table, at least twice. Ellison was trying to get in touch with his wife and her father (Trixie's grandfather).

They were out running a few errands but Ellison couldn't get a hold of them. He then tried to call Remy's folks.

"Hello?" A voice asked. That was Remy's father, Ronald.

Ellison took a breath, "Ronald? It's me, Ellison."

Ronald perked up, "Oh yes, I heard about the fire. Did you really lose everything...?"

Ellison had tears in eyes as he tried to explain, "Yes we did..."

Ronald snobbily told him, "Then you shouldn't be calling us."

Ellison did a double take, "Wait, what?"

Ronald seemed to be annoyed, "Should I repeat myself? No one is going to help you, especially since you lost everything. No one wants to deal with trash."

Ellison couldn't believe his ears. Neither could Remy, who was listening nearby. Before Ellison could argue, Ronald hung up. What just happened...?

...

True to Ronald's word, no one wanted to help the Tangs at all. He tried calling Chad and Tad's parents but they said the same thing as Remy's father. As for Veronica's mother, she couldn't really do anything. She wasn't as rich. Ellison sighed sadly. What was he going to do now?

"Any luck?" A voice asked him.

Ellison perked up and that's when he saw his wife. Ellison hugged her gently as he told her what happened. She was alone, she had dropped off her father at his home.

Ellison answered, "Looks like we might have to stay at a hotel tonight, hun."

Stephanie sat down with him, "Any news about Trixie...?"

Ellison replied, "There hasn't been any change. She's still in very critical condition."

Stephanie's heart broke. She couldn't believe what was happening. She admitted, "I doubt I would be able to sleep, even though I'm exhausted."

Ellison slightly chuckled, "Same here."

Stephanie told him, "Also, it sounds like someone did this on purpose."

Ellison shook his head, "I can't believe anyone would do that... There is no one that hates Trixie like that."

Stephanie was about to say something until they heard something.

"Mr. and Mrs. Tang?" Both of them turned, seeing the doctor there. Coral added, "Trixie is still in danger but you can see her briefly if you wish."

"Mind if I come too?" A voice said behind them.

That's when they saw Timmy Turner. Ellison and Stephanie both looked at each other and nodded. Timmy smiled briefly before locking eyes with Coral. She had a faint look in her eyes but Timmy was determined to see her.

Coral sighed as she told them, "Then follow me."

The three of them did as they were told. Coral led them down the hall and to the room in the left corridor. There, they saw Trixie laying on the bed. She was completely wrapped up, from head to toe. It broke Tang's heart to see their baby girl like that. Timmy was in shock.

Timmy stammered, "S - she was that badly burned...?"

Coral confirmed, "Afraid so. The burns will heal over time. Her eyes seemed to have gotten the worst of it, though."

Stephanie asked, "Wait what about her eyes?"

Coral hesitated before she answered, "Mrs. Tang, I don't like the outcome but she might become blind after all of this."

Ellison and Stephanie both gasped. That's when Timmy's heart broke. He excused himself to go down the hall. Once there, his fairy family appeared to him.

Timmy turned to them, "I - I can't believe this is happening... Even with the islanders help I..."

Wanda placed a hand on his shoulder, "I can't either but she will need someone to help her through this."

Cosmo added, "Through this? This is nothing compared to being in the coco mines in Jersey!"

Poof deadpanned, "There are no coco mines in Jersey."

"Timmy?"

The fairies disappeared and returned as Timmy's hat, backpack, and cellphone. Ellison had gone after him.

Timmy asked, "Yes Mr. Tang?"

Ellison answered, "Would you happen to know if there are any hotels nearby that aren't expensive?"

Timmy modestly stated, "Well, I wish I did."

Hearing his wish, his fairies secretly granted it and Timmy pulled out his "phone". Poof giggled when Timmy winked at him. Timmy then handed Ellison the "phone".

Ellison smiled at him, "Thanks son. You may have just shown me the first bit of kindness since this whole thing started."
