Amal
I groan in pain as I feel a cold hand touching my hand. A rope of some sort tightens up around my arm and that's when I hissed in pain slightly opening my eyes only to be blinded by the familiar hospital light.
"Sorry, I just need to inject you with this so the pain will be more manageable." An unfamiliar voice said.
"Where am I?" I feel myself feeling groggy once again and I fall back asleep.

"Her arm was dislocated and she had a broken nose. Multiple bruises were on her body sir! And you're asking me if I want to sue?"
Is that daddy?
My blurry sight clears up and I see him with a police officer by the door. Aunty Mariya was sitting beside my bed, her face covered in her palms.
"Daddy" my voice come out hoarse like I've had sore throat for ages. His head snaps in my direction and he runs to me immediately holding my hand.
"Mama na, how are you feeling? Are you okay?" His eyes filled with worry.
The familiar voice that sounded like home coats my heart. I'm safe.
My throat tightened as my eyes well up with tears. They begin cascading down my face as I tried to phrase a sentence, anything.
I try to reach for him with my other hand but a sharp pain sends a shock wave through my spine. My hand was wrapped in a white cast and strapped to the iron over the bed.
"It's okay, just lie down. You're safe." He pats my head ever gently.
More tears flow as I found myself unable to even say what happened.
"It was Aliya...." I managed to say before breaking into sobs,I felt broken inside out.
He scoots beside me fitting into the bed before gently wrapping his arms around me, my head on his chest. I felt at home. I didn't have to be strong anymore, at least not now.
My tears soaked his shirt as I kept crying.
"Sue the damn school! All of them!" He said through gritted teeth and that's when I realized the police officer was still standing by the door.
I'm safe now, I'm safe.

"I know you may be scared but we are only going to the school to discuss about the suing. They will not go freely! I promise." Daddy says as he helps me put on my shoes.
It has been two weeks, two long weeks of being in bed with no activity. The world seemed to have lost its color, nothing made sense and after being discharged, daddy's lawyer suggested we go to the school and talk about the situation.
The drive to the school unlike my first time being there was filled with anxiety. My heart constantly racing, I felt scared like something bad was going to happen. My left arm was still in a cast as I had badly dislocated my elbow.
We parked in one of the vacant spots and got out. The once beautiful school full of life seemed to look like a cemetery. Daddy noticed how anxious I was.
"Don't worry, nobody can harm you while I'm here." He said reassuringly and we walked in.
We were met with Miss Emma, I felt slightly at ease because I know she can testify to how rude Aliya is but for some reason her face was tight and serious.
"Mr Ibrahim. Thank you for coming, the principal is waiting for you. Please come with me." She gestured and Daddy simply nodded.
As we headed down to the staff office, I saw Yasir standing outside our classroom with some of his friends. His eyes travelled from my bruised face to the cast on my hand, his smile turning into a frown. He seemed puzzled. I put my head down and continued walking.
