This has been quite the experience. While I have made stories before that has NSFW elements(which remain unpublished to this day), this was my first time making a story that explicitly focuses on said elements. Funny enough, most acquaintances know me for being reserved and uninterested with sensual topics, so when some friends found out about it, they were in for a shock (lol). That said, I'd like to give my thanks to 'Shi', who fortunately still remained to be my friend after finding out one of the motivators and reasons I had for continuing with this story.

At first, this was just one of the stories had planned to make into a one-shot comic. In fact, I never intended to start with this one. But then, after realizing I came to Uni without having any classes, I decided to find something to draw. Then, I found a character design sketch for the two main characters for a random isekai bl prompt I made a year ago. I thought it was a good design, so I decided to reuse it. I drew them, and as I was doing so, a monologue material came to mind.

"That entire night, I wasn't the one reflected in his eyes."

Because of the sudden crash of inspiration, I was able to quickly build up the lore of the characters. And so, we come back to how it got on the the list of stories to turn into one-shots.

At the start, Rabbit Hole was supposed to be just a messed up story that happened to have the main characters doing the deed. Kind of of like those smut oneshots that was basically just p▅rn? But maybe because of the lessons we recently had for our Psychology major, the development of the plot became more complex.

It was as this point I was starting to lose my mind from all the realizations I've been having since the semester started, so I used this story as a way to let out all my frustrations. And so, rather than just being a dark short story, Rabbit Hole ended up being some kind of psychological analysis for me. Shi, being the only one I could talk to freely about the themes of this story, helped not only motivate me, but also unknowingly kept me sane. It's entertaining to see their reaction to the new drafts and storyboards everytime (lol). Certainly, the characters in this story has started to mean a lot to me, even though it's a bit funny and embarassing to admit. A lot of them were based of off me and other people I'm acquainted with, something I didn't even realize I was doing until I've completed the entire plot and were doing revisions and grammar checks.

Another funny thing was when choosing the title for this story, I couldn't find any other fitting description so I just went with Rabbit Hole, because the story was focused on Heejae's secret and past. But thanks to Sia and Kyo, I found out about the fact that Rabbits can have strong libido, making the phrase have a sexual implication...and then I also found that Rabbit Hole song (lol). Coincidentally, the story also had sexual themes so it would seem like the double-meaning title was intentional (lol). While there was another meaning behind the title, it is something I'd like to treasure alone for now.
